I’m taking a page from the hubby‘s book today by putting together a photo essay of my amazingly fun trip to Orlando, FL this past weekend. The bestie and I attended the 6th annual Quidditch World Cup, which for any Potter fan is a dream come true. For those wondering, “muggle quidditch” is comprised of elements from rugby, dodgeball and olympic handball. And yes, it is a full contact sport (complete with a human snitch and all).
A Very Magical Bachelorette
I come bearing both good and bad news. Bad news? No Lovable Friday today. Good news? I am en route to Orlando, Florida where I will be celebrating a wonderful girl’s bachelorette! I am completely honored to be my friend, Elissa’s, maid of honor and have had such a good time planning what may just be the best bachelorette party idea in the world. Well, at least to those of us that believe in magic. It will be at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter where we will be sure to spike our Butterbeers and run amok alongside fellow witches all while pledging allegiance to the boy who lived.
I’ll be back next week with party details, as well as a related giveaway!
Have a great weekend, muggles!
Squeeworthy: 1618 Something Different
Antique shopping: something Miami is lacking. I see people get all these amazing pieces off the street and from specialty stores, but I can never find a similar (& affordable) option down here. I wish I could tell you this post is about a new local discovery (but I’m all ears to any suggestions), but instead it is a new not-so-local one. To only add fuel to my lusty fire, my friend Mallory (check out her amazing decor/lifestyle blog here) recently posted about her trip to Winter Park, FL to visit 1618, a fabulous retro/vintage furniture store.
As if her own amazing find wasn’t enough to incite some serious envy, she told me to check out their Picasa album that they update regularly with new arrivals. And I did. And I instantly regretted it. In a record 5 seconds, I managed to fall deeply in love with this Paul McCobb Modular Table. Do you think they take orders by phone? And then ship them? For no additional cost?
Am I asking for too much?
::sigh::
