Convention Must-Haves

September 24th, 2014 | Posted in Geekery by Meli

Ah, the convention life. It’s a tough one, but someone has got to live it, amiright?
All silliness aside, I love me a good geeky convention. Thankfully, Miami is stepping up to the plate and hosting quite a few in the months to come, but I still find myself eager to travel to check out what the rest of the country has to offer. I’ll be visiting the West Coast starting tomorrow, so if there are any great events I should hit up in LA or San Francisco, definitely let me know!

My next convention will be NYCC, and I absolutely can’t wait to spend it with friends old and new, while checking out what are sure to be some amazing goodies. Since I frequent these events quite a bit, I thought I would compile my top 5 “must haves” while attending a convention;

1. A Mophie iPhone Case; this has been such an incredible life saver for me. The Mophie case will make your phone a little bulkier, but it will guarantee almost an entire day of battery life. It has a built-in charger that you set to do its business once your battery life has been drained and voila! You are back at 80% in no time! They also have some models that will restore you to 100%, but honestly, I haven’t had any problems once I am back at 80. Struggling to find an available power source to charge your phone is absolutely no fun during a convention, not to mention a terrible waste of time, so this is definitely my number one recommendation!

2013

Oh my…look at that. It’s a new year.  A clean slate. Let’s start over, people.
Although I usually run through my previous year’s wishes, I won’t be doing it this time around b/c unfortunately, they were very broad and the majority were not accomplished (le sad face). And it does nothing to focus on the past, right? We can only look forward, and this upcoming year looks to be very, very bright.

Santa Please?

December 23rd, 2010 | Posted in Personal by Meli

I was inspired by La La Lovely’s fun post detailing what she would ask Santa for if there were no limitations or restrictions (kind of like the also fun “what if we won the Lotto” game). So much so, that I decided to make my own list!

Please remember these would only come second to World Peace, finding cures for disorders and/or diseases, ending world hunger, etc. etc. What? I’m not that frivolous!

A beach house in Australia

A private acoustic concert from Billy Corgan

A complete Kate Spade collection

A closet, kind of like Carrie Bradshaw’s

Enough Vivienne Westwood shoes to fill said closet

A  convertible Nissan 370Z

A whole year just to travel the world

What did I really get?
Although I won’t be traveling the world all of 2011, I will be visiting Europe for the first time with the hubs! Our big gifts to each other were plane tickets to Barcelona, Spain! We will be touring Barcelona, London and Paris for 2 weeks and we can barely stand the wait.
Not too shabby for reality, right? ;)

What would all of you wish for if you didn’t have to worry about all those pesky inconveniences like money, responsibility, employment or children?

30B430

Inspired by one of my favorite blogs, Making It Lovely, I decided to compile a list of thirty things I’d like to do before I turn 30 next year. It’s a big year for me, one I have been dreading for sometime, but I am determined to make it less painful than anticipated. The rumor is your 30′s are the new 20′s so maybe this is something to look forward to?

Either way, here is my list!

People I want to cuss.

December 8th, 2009 | Posted in Hump Day, Personal by Meli

If you saw The Fantastic Mr. Fox, you saw what I did there.
I like ridiculous meme’s. So you get one today. Enjoy!

The rules:

1. Have NO life. – I am offended by this. I have a life thankyouverymuch. My Internet life is just more fun. So there!
2. Bold the names of guys you’d definitely sleep with.
3. Italicize the names of guys you might after a little persuasion.
4. Leave the guys who don’t do anything for you alone.
5. Put a question mark after the guys you’ve never heard of.
6. Strike the guys you wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole.
7. Add three more guys to the list.

Ready? Go!
