Concert Junkie

I’ve seen quite a few bloggers posting this meme and thought it couldn’t be more relevant, after all, I am a bona fide concert addict. Nothing brings me greater joy than seeing bands that I truly love up close and personal – to have that connection that is really indescribable. Even better sometimes is going to a show blind  and being blown away by a new act. Discovering a band while Internet surfing or listening to your friend’s record collection cannot compare in the least bit with discovering them live. All about El Sanchez

3766237361_059bb60dc8Just like I mentioned yesterday, I will be making an Augi-centric post every day this week leading up to his 28th birthday on Saturday! So sit back and enjoy riding the Sanchez train. 😉

1. When your S.O. is sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen?

Fringe, Stargate Universe, Eureka, CSI or Top Chef.

2. You’re out to eat; what kind of dressing does your S.O. get on salad?

We don’t order salads much, but I’m going to go off on a limb and guess balsamic vinegarette of some kind.

3. What’s one food your S.O. doesn’t like?

Any kind of seafood.

4. You go out to the bar. What does your S.O. order?

Guinness if he wants beer, whiskey & ginger ale if liquor. He’s also been trying old fashions lately because he thinks he’s fancy.

5. Where did your S.O. go to high school?

Junipero Serra High School in the Bay Area.

10 Things

Make a list of 10 random/weird/funny facts about you that your readers would know nothing about.

(1) I tend to memorize things rather than learn them. Great talent to have while in school, not so great once you are out and trying to apply those skills. This is why I am stellar at remembering song lyrics and believe School House Rocks is amazing.

(2) I suffer from situational anxiety, that is, I tend to get anxious when in a “different setting” that is out of my comfort zone. I became depressed while living in Pensacola, I threw up on my first day of work, I could barely function when I went back to grad school this past year, etc. It’s pretty debilitating and frustrating because I wish I could turn it off like a light switch. I believe change is good, but my mind and body apparently do not.

(3) Instead of having my (appropriate) boyband stage when I was in grade school with New Kids on the Block, I opted to go through it when I was 18 with *NSYNC. I will not divulge how much money, time & energy I spent on those 5 guys. Still love you, Lance!

(4) After spending the majority of my life masking the fact that I am a huge dork, I am so happy that I have become comfortable enough with myself to embrace it. It feels so nice to be able to finally be crazy, nerdy, ridiculous me!

(5) I absolutely adore meeting new people and spending time with others. I am a total people person. My husband always tells me to stop making new friends, but I can’t help it. Ever since I was a little girl, I wasn’t happy unless I was with my friends. Not much has changed.

While a (very active) member of Livejournal a few years back, I absolutely adored meme’s. I would do as many as humanly possible, which I’m sure annoyed a great deal of my LJ friends. The draw still hasn’t escaped me, because I’ve decided to include them from time to time here on Melificent. Afterall, sometimes I am not in the most journalistic of moods.
