What I Wore: New Year, New Look

I used to be one for new years resolutions and wishes. I would ponder on the year that passed and make goals for the next. I’m so over that. I don’t know if it has something to do with the rough year I had or just growing up, but I rather just continue living. I still love what a new year represents: a fresh start, a chance to turn things around, etc, but I feel like that could be at any point in time. Why wait until a new year? Either way, I’m looking forward to a sort of blank slate even though nothing has really changed. Well, except my hair.

Embrace the ginge. Maybe that should be my motto for 2015. Everyone knows redheads are firecrackers, so I’m going to take this year by the proverbial horns. Watch out 2015, Melificent is here and she’s going to kick your ass. But in the meantime, have you seen my Luna Cat tights?? I’d say they were pretty spectacular and clearly the only way I could ring in the new year.

I’m not the only one getting a makeover. Look out in the next couple months for a complete site redesign! I’m so excited to reflect the blog’s new geeky direction. Cheers, everyone!

What I Wore: Green & Yellow

Sorry, that is a pretty terrible Black and Yellow reference.

I should stick to clothes. And that I will! Remember when I used to be scared to color block and incorporate too many colors at once? Long gone are those days. I now love grabbing multiple colors and trying to figure out how I can make them work together. Case in point: green and yellow. This combo literally made me want to grab my car keys and go to the beach. Doesn’t it look like I need a mojito in my hand?

What I Wore: Summer Casual

We had big plans for Saturday. After too many back-to-back vacations and just general bad eating, the hubs and I are on a strict calorie-counting regime, and we really want to incorporate more exercise and physical activities into our daily routine (we were getting way too comfortable being couch potatoes). This is why we were really excited to pull our bikes out of the garage and start riding again. Unfortunately, Miami’s fickle weather did not work in our favor. Mid-way through our ride, it began to torrentially downpour. We had to pedal to the metal all the way back home, but at least we got a lot of shrieks and laughter in. That’s gotta count for something right?

What I Wore: The Limited Pants

Finding the right fit and style when shopping for work pants has to be the worst. Well, let’s face it. Shopping for pants period is not the most enjoyable thing in the world. That’s why I love the modern fit and flare of the Drew pants from The Limited. As you can see, they look great paired with some fun, bold heels (something I believe should always be a staple with boring work outfits – you need a punch) and are endlessly comfy. Plus, they seem to flatter many different body types, even my curvy Cuban hips! 😉

Something else you might be noticing is my new ‘do! I recently got some Zooey Deschanel-esque bangs and I love them (well, until they develop a mind of their own – coming soon, I’m sure)!

What I Wore: The Concert That Never Was

I’ve decided that if I get my own SLR, I wouldn’t have to bother the poor hubs with frequent outfit posts. Every now and then, I get the opportunity to use a borrowed company camera and I fall in love. Hard. But until that day…

I got all dolled up last week to see the awesome Boyce Avenue at Revolution, but unfortunately, plans got a little botched and we ended up not attending (sniff). However, I decided to still feature the outfit because…well, it was cute! I also unintentionally paid homage to the 10 Cent Designer, Lori Andrews, during my shoot. I put my camera on our dining table on self-timer and must have stood too close for comfort because my head was missing! To satisfy my inner artist, I just decided to go with it.
