Lovable Friday!

1. We are under contract!

I’m happy to report that after 6 months of house hunting, we are finally under contract on a beautiful 3/2 home with a 2-car garage and pool (no, that is not the house pictured)! We got the great news yesterday and I haven’t stopped smiling like a magpie ever since. Granted, we still have to go through the inspection, finalize the application for our mortgage and close – but this is still really exciting for us. I’m not going to post any pictures of the house just yet, but I can tell you that it’s wonderful! I can’t wait to start decorating it and making it our own. Expect many more home decor posts from me in the next coming weeks and months. Best part is: I get to share the progression of our first home with all of you on this blog! Squee!

The Shabby Apple

My new staple besides jeans and a tee is a pretty girly dress. I used to hate dresses but lately I find them so easy and comfortable. My favorite dresses are those that channel some sort of vintage vibe, which I believe flattered a woman’s body the best. In my style aesthetic, you do not have to show it all to be sexy and feminine! That is why I fell in love with the fabulous website, The Shabby Apple. It is jam-packed with adorable little retro numbers and the prices aren’t half bad either. I really wish I had some fancy event coming up just so I could purchase one of these cuties!

One important part of home decor in South Florida involves the patio! Living in a city where temperatures are warm year round means that the patio or backyard is put into use a lot more than in any other places. Although I do am not a fan of birds, funny enough I love birdhouses. Unfortunately, they are usually cheesy looking or just boring. The Atomic Birdhouses shop on Etsy gives you anything but! These birdhouses range from mod to cuban (made from cigar boxes!), are eco-friendly and you can bet that no one on your block will have the same one! Sounds like a win win situation to me!

4. Lilith Fair 2010
4. Lilith Fair 2010

It’s been a long time since we last experienced the feminine revolution that was Lilith Fair. I clearly remember pretending I was sick during high school so I could run down to the nurse’s office to use her phone in order to beg my mother to allow me to skip school to go to Lilith and see Sarah McLachlan. Even though I wasn’t successful back in the 90’s, it looks like I might have another chance in 2010! Lilith Fair is coming back to a select number of cities (no Florida dates yet – boo) with fresh new female acts to blow our minds. I’m really proud of Metric making the bill and they seem to be in really good company. Check out the list of artists and read through the cities to see if you are lucky enough to have the tour coming near you! Don’t forget your Birkenstocks and braids!

How adorable is this???? Have your pups dine in style with these feeders by These Creatures, which will apparently be my new favorite site ever. Unfortunately, they are very steep at $175 and my dogs would probably be intimidated with another Boston staring them down as they eat, but you can’t deny the hotness!!! If you are not the proud owner of a Boston Terrier, check out their other breeds as well as their other goodies for gift ideas for that special four-legged creature in your life!

I hope you all have a great weekend and I’ll be back on Monday to wrap mine up!

Congrats on the pad, may all the rest of the chips fall neatly in to place!

I literally was thinking at the Metric show that if there was ever another Lilith Fair they should play it because Emily is such a great front woman. So this news is kind of scary! Lol, hopefully they’ll have some Florida dates. You know I’ll be there, front row! πŸ˜€
