Happy Hump Day: Sam Huntington

I opened up voting for this week’s hump day hottie on the blog’s Facebook page and you guys spoke up with Sam Huntington from SyFy’s  Being Human. Although I’m not a big fan of this US version (it was originally a series on the BBC), I can appreciate the cuties on the show. Sam plays a man grappling with the reality that he is a werewolf, that has just shacked up with his coworker, a vampire, in an attempt at being human. Upon choosing their space, they realize that they have inherited a third roommate: a ghost. Although I like the concept, I feel like this US version doesn’t make it very believable. I’m curious to check out the original UK series, as everyone raves about it constantly – but, enough about the show, let’s give Sam a little love!

Happy Hump Day: Raine Maida

I am a adolescent of the 90’s. This is pretty evident once you get to know me and my CD collection. I have fond memories of using school computers to go on band fansites (I didn’t have Internet of my own just yet) and print out photos of all my favorite hot rockstars to wallpaper my locker or notebooks. I vividly remember Raine Maida of Our Lady Peace being one of them. Although they were a pretty big deal in the 90’s, I was surprised to see them still touring recently. They played at a local South Florida rock festival a couple of years ago that I attended and I was curious to see if they would still sound the same, worse? I was pleasantly surprised when they took the stage that they are still as great as ever and even appeased all us 90’s fans by playing their old material, which instantly took me back to being an angsty teenager (a place of comfort once you are an angsty adult). Another surprise? That lead singer, Raine, was just as hot as I remembered. But I’ll leave that opinion up to you all.

Happy Hump Day: Heath Ledger

I’ll never forget how I felt when I found out about Heath Ledger’s passing. I was sitting at my desk at work not exactly working when I saw the news on a message board. I actually found it difficult to breathe and felt sick. It was strange to me because I had never had that kind of reaction to any celebrity death, but Heath had been one of my favorites since high school when I saw 10 Things I Hate About You (and then continued to watch it incessantly for years). It makes me sad to think of all the accomplishments and acclaims he could have had under his belt by now. Such a talent, such a beautiful human being…such a loss. I love you, Heath, and we miss you dearly.

Happy Hump Day: Mark Hoppus

Blink-182 was one of my favorite bands back in high school. I remember getting extremely upset when they became popular. I just wouldn’t have it – they were my little secret. After my senior year in high school, their popularity continued to snowball and  are now known as one of the most successful American pop punk bands. Blink was led (& bass-ed) by cutie, Mark Hoppus, and although I was totally a Tom girl, I definitely swooned a time or two over Mr. Hoppus. He has those sweet boyish charms (well, aside from the dirty jokes and public farts) that tend to get us girls every time. Since my college days, Blink-182 has broken up, band members have formed side projects (+44 for Mark & drummer, Travis, and Angels & Airwaves for Tom), only for them to announce they were getting back together in 2009. The band is expecting to release their first album together in 8 years sometime this spring/summer. And aside from new music, Mark is also tackling hosting. He has his own show on Fuse, A Different Spin, where he showcases and interviews successful as well as emerging bands alongside co-host comedian, Amy Schumer. You’ve definitely come a long way from All the Small Things, sir.

Happy Hump Day: Topher Grace

Although I didn’t watch That 70’s Show religiously like others did, I still grew quite the crush on Topher Grace. I blame it his role in In Good Company. The clean, suited up and grown up look definitely suited him. Plus, despite looking grown up, he still had that geeky and awkward charm that makes me basically powerless. Unfortunately, he followed that with the horrific Superman 3, where he played Venom. A film best swept under the rug and never mentioned again, in my opinion. But, that doesn’t stand in the way of Topher and his off the charts cute level. Enjoy it below, readers, and if this spurs your love further, check out his new movie, Take Me Home Tonight.
