On Saturday night, I went with the hubs & Elsie to Lincoln Road theater to see the documentary, It Might Get Loud. The movie revolves around Jack White (The White Stripes), Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) and The Edge (U2) as they discuss their different backgrounds, musical styles, influences and general passion for music. The three eventually get together to discuss what music means to them and to swap musical stylings with each other. I didn’t know the story behind these men, even being a big fan of their music, and was blown away by the level of dedication and creativity. Music is such a big part of my life so I was mesmerized by their techniques and just general love for their craft. I definitely recommend this documentary to musicians and music lovers alike!
Sunday consisted of cleaning the house in preparation for our Heroes season premiere viewing party (today!!!!) and a healthy dose of studying for me. Not a very exciting day, so the Emmy’s later that night were definitely the highlight of my day. My best dressed list was made up of Drew Barrymore, Alyson Hannigan, Toni Collette and Jennifer Love Hewitt. An honorable mention goes to January Jones because my mind doesn’t know whether or not to love it or hate it and maybe that was what they were going for? Confusion? I have no idea. Anywho, I know people love these girls (for some reason that escapes me), but the Gossip Girls consisting of Blake Lively and Leighton Meester looked really trampy as did poor Hayden Panettiere – although I did love her hair. It was really similar to my wedding ‘do! Finally, I really wish Anna Torv’s dress was shorter because she is such a beautiful girl but that long sparkly dress was so frumpy!
As for the actual show, it was boring as hell. Neil Patrick Harris definitely made it bearable – especially when Dr. Horrible made an appearance! I was pretty upset that he didn’t win an Emmy, but was really happy that almost every winner mentioned what a great host he was during their acceptance speech. Jim Parsons losing out was also a bummer, but the Emmy’s are pretty infamous for shutting out the most deserving of nominees (except for Michael Emerson from LOST – win!). Besides all that jazz, it was a very welcomed distraction from my studying!
Tomorrow brings the official beginning of the Fall TV season so expect a very TV-heavy set of posts this week! I am beyond excited!

I def. thought Blake’s dress was a little to risque, esp. for something as low-key [well, lower key] as the Emmys. Leighton’s dress could have been decent…I like the gretian idea, but it was almost frumpy. Other stars I love also looked like they got dressed in the dark. I adore Olivia wilde but her dress looked like a figure skating bodysuit on top, lol.
I personally loved January Jones’ dress. It seemed very art deco to me & I liked the bodice paired with the flowy bottom.
Alright…lol. I could talk fashion all day, hehe.
