I’ve always thought of Joseph Gordon Levitt as being a little kid. I guess you can chock it up to his cute little baby face and my memories of him playing awkward teens. My personal favorite being 10 Things I Hate About You – every time it is on TV, I must watch it. But this year has definitely been a break out year for Joseph, which made me notice that he had grown up into a pretty smokin’ dude while still keeping his boyish good looks (doesn’t he remind you of the late & great Heath Ledger?). He acted alongside the absolutely adorable Zooey Deschanel in 500 Days of Summer and played Cobra Commander in G.I. Joe, plus he’s lined up for several other films, one in particular from director Christopher Nolan (Inception) along with Leonardo DiCaprio. So I think it’s safe to say that we’ll be seeing more of Mr. Gordon Levitt in the years to come and I’m not complaining!

Delayed Weekend Highlights!
The first half of the weekend was all about family. My husband’s family was in from out of town for his grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary. It was lovely to reminisce about the length of their beautiful relationship through both stories and photos. I hope that Augi and I will be able to share such a milestone with our children and grandchildren one day. We spent the majority of the weekend with everyone, had a family photoshoot, attended a special mass and had a delicious family dinner at Trattoria Sole. It all made me realize how important family is and how lucky we are to have them around. Others are not as fortunate.
Our love is so rock steady
I’d like to wish my most favoritest couple ever a very very happy wedding anniversary and I hope they have many many more to come. They are one of the only Hollywood couples that know how to do it right and it’s a breath of fresh air. I just hope Ms. Stefani finally realizes that it’s OK to loan him out every now and then as I’ve been waiting for my turn for quite some time. 😉
Also, some brief thoughts on last night’s VMA’s:
– Kanye West is the biggest douche on this planet.
– I have come to the conclusion that I do not understand Lady Gaga.
– Muse being introduced as “the band that influenced Twilight” put a stake through my heart. Repeatedly.
– I am pretty far removed from what is considered “popular music.”
– I’m totally OK with that.
ps; No worries! The weekend wrap-up will be up tomorrow – I have to play a little catch up!
Lovable Friday

Besides the Smashing Pumpkins, I can’t really say I love a band more than Muse. Not very surprising since they have a lot of similar characteristics musically. What can I say? I’m predictable. Either way, this band blows my mind on a regular basis so I had been impatiently waiting for their new album for what seems like ages. Finally, there was a leak this week and I didn’t think twice before hitting the download button. I know people are going to hate because that’s what people do, but my GOD is this album good. I can only describe it as an eargasm – I would make love to every track, no joke. What other band can close their album with a 3-part symphony? Absolutely no one, but Muse. My favorite of the moment? Undisclosed Desires. It could be described as Smashing Pumpkins & Depeche Mode’s song baby and it is all sorts of awesome. Have I mentioned that I am going to see them open up for U2 next month in Tampa? Because I am so excited I could burst. I’ve never seen them live and although we have nosebleed seats (seriously, who can afford decent U2 tickets???), I am going to be happier than a pig in shit. No joke. Plus, there are rumors that they will be playing a 12 song set, much longer than typical openers (because they are awesome, hello)! So if you are going, I’ll be the certifiably insane fangirl singing and dancing like a fool. Feel free to come over and flail with me.
Goodies
Retail therapy is always a friend of mine. Last week, I was feeling a little under the weather so I found myself online shopping (always a great remedy). Alloy especially had quite a fun clearance section so I decided to go for it and indulge, after all, I couldn’t resist those prices – you’ll see why!
My mom always tells me that I “love to look like a little girl” because of my continuing obsession with bows, polka dots and all things youthful and cute. I really can’t help myself. When I see something that makes me literally gasp and say “awwww” I must purchase it. That’s just the way things go in my world. This little red babydoll dress was no exception! Can you believe it was only $14.99? I plan on rocking it this weekend for a vow renewal. No wonder people still think I’m in high school. 😉
