So it begins…

house

In case you were wondering, this is what has been keeping me busy and what will be keeping me busy for the next couple months to come. That’s right, you can call us homeowners to this gorgeous little pad! I like to call it “our little beach house” because it gives me such a sweet Key West vibe and is so bright and happy. Because of that, we have decided to play up on the beach vibe with certain elements of the house. We have a lot of work to do and it all started this past weekend!

We made endless trips to Lowe’s (thank you to those that gave us gift cards), Target and even Walmart to collect some preliminary supplies. We started work on the backyard – not being pro’s in any way, shape or form when it comes to pools – we asked my brother-in-law for some help and started its maintenance. We also gave all those nasty weeds exactly what they deserved – a swift and painful death!

We were also super lucky to find these awesome Utah Maple floors online for 1.99/sq.ft. and placed our order right away! I am so excited that we found what I believe to be unique flooring for such a great price. Plus, it fits the beach vibe perfectly! Our next project will be to try to find affordable white plantation shutters among other things! And by other things I mean a million things! 😉

I hope I can continue sharing this whole process with you guys – and hopefully will be able to do some fun before and after’s soon!

Have a great week, everyone!

xoxo

I love all your design choices so far – especially, the plantation shutters. Can’t wait to see the final result!

    Thanks Adri!!
Finding affordable plantation shutters is going to be quite the mission, but I think it’ll go so well with the vibe we are trying to set. Let’s see if it works out!

Loving all the pics and excited for you both! If you need assistance in the plant department for the backyard and home let me know as I love doing that stuff. I can see a great herb garden in the backyard (in pots) and hanging some beautiful orchids. When you see my apartment you will understand why I’m offering my skills 😉

Tracy – we’d love any plant/landscaping advice because we are both clueless when it comes to all that!

Mazal Tov! I love the blog. Oh and you guys are super talented in the photography department, if I ever get engaged (which might be soon I think) and you want to take a trip to Orlando, I’d like to talk to you doing my photos. Oh hell, I don’t know why I’m doing this here, I’ll email you when I get home.
