Once Kate Spade was the queen of prep, but I absolutely love the way the brand has evolved over the years. It can still be labeled as preppy, but in such a fun and whimsical way. Their pieces are so girly and fun – I don’t think there is one Kate Spade item I don’t like and these flats are no exception. The gorgeous shade of purple, the adorable little present bow, I just can’t handle it! Get your own for $95 at Zappo’s.
Always looking for inspirational party scapes, I stumbled on this stunning theme by the always amazing 100 Layer Cake: mixing modern with vintage. I’ve always enjoyed combining two different styles, but this particular layout marries the two seamlessly! Doesn’t it give you a lovely Alice in Wonderland vibe? I’d love to invite some of my closest girlfriends to gossip over martinis and this pretty decor. Any takers? 😉
Who wants a bunch of boring, solid-colored balloons at their next party when you can have these fun & unique polka dot balloons! Sure, they may be a little expensive at $6.95 each, but you can always sprinkle them in along with those boring ones to bring a little kitsch to your next event! You can order these pretties in all sorts of colors (along with more great party supplies) from Plates & Napkins.
This band just continues to blow me away with their live performances. The worst kept secret of SxSW‘s music festival was that Muse would be playing at one of Austin’s small venues some time that week. They finally confirmed the performance last week and it took place a week ago at Stubb’s. Lucky SxSW’sters lined up to see the British boys in a small club atmosphere, definitely the last time the band would be visiting such a venue as they seem to be doing a pretty good job of taking over the States. The band was generous enough to upload video of the performance on their Myspace page and although they admittedly had some audio issues causing a loss in footage, the video includes two glorious performances (Stockholm Syndrome & Knights of Cydonia) that will have you wishing you had dished out the bucks for a SxSW badge!
Although natural and beautiful flowers really make a statement at an event, sometimes easy is better – and now, can be just as stunning thanks to these lovely paper flower toppers from 789 Design’s Etsy Shop. They come already cut and assembled, allowing you to just open the package and pop open the flowers! They can be scattered on a table or glued to favor boxes (as pictured above), amongst other things. I would really love to see these glued on to kraft paper boxes lined up across a table as a centerpiece. Cuties!
