Now that we are almost ready to move into our new home (squee!), I’ve been shopping for a lot more home accessories than usual. Unfortunately, I stumbled upon this gorgeous ruffled shower curtain from Anthropologie. I say unfortunately because this pretty little lady is $118! Of course, after seeing it, I became obsessed with having a ruffled shower curtain in our master bathroom and thankfully after some Internet scouring, I found a more affordable ruffle action from Target. But I’ll most probably still find myself lusting after this one from time to time. Oh, how you pain me so, Anthropologie!
I have kind of found myself drawn to party garlands and bunting lately – I think they easily set a festive tone and seem to be everywhere lately! I’ve considered making my own but always figure it’ll be a more daunting task than it seems, that is, until I stumbled upon this guest post on Oh, Hello Friend. The creative Melanie made a garland for each month to give to her sister for her birthday and she swears they are at a 3rd grader’s level. I think I may just test out my grade school craft skills after all!
No surprise that a day home from work to recharge those batteries ended up inspiring me to create, create, create. Here’s another wonderful DIY project for your next party, photoshoot or just for the fun of it! This lovely blogger mommy revolved her one-year-old’s birthday party around pinwheels and pearls (how sweet!) and decided to share her easy tutorial with the rest of the Internet world. I don’t know about you guys, but summers just aren’t complete without your very own pinwheel so I’ll definitely be giving this one a try!
Sound the alarms! I discovered another addictive wedding blog! I think I need an intervention, but it feels so damn good. Thanks to Ruffled, I was able to feast my eyes on this delicious piece of sensory overload. This Nashville couple made everything for their 150-guest wedding themselves. Absolutely inspiring. How perfectly dreamy & romantic was their vintage reception couch with sweet hanging pom garlands? This whole event was just one big swoon!
What is it with me and ruffles this week?
As you guys know, learning to sew is one of my 30 things to do before 30 so I quickly bookmarked this great post on Craftzine on how to make your own ruffle dress or skirt. They say it is easy peasy, but it looks like Japanese or at least something out of Project Runway for a newb like me. Maybe some of my readers that know how to sew can tell me where this little project lies on the intensity scale. One thing’s for sure, if I am ever able to make these pretties, I am going to need a bigger closet.

Hello! I work with Lori at AutoNation and she linked me to this post for the awesomely fun cupcake-wrapper garland. I love it! I, too, also love the idea of a ruffled shower curtain. Urban Outfitters has one (albeit still not super cheap) that also comes in a few colors: http://bit.ly/9K1wLT. Good luck!

Hi Mallory! I’ve heard so much about you 🙂
I saw that Urban curtain but it’s still a little steep. I’m hoping a little more Internet research and I can find it a little cheaper! I’m a girl on a mission! 😉
