This past weekend I celebrated my birthday (again) one last time before saying goodbye to my lovely birthday month, July. I hope you not only raised a glass to my marvelous self, but also to the boy who lived on Saturday as it was Harry Potter’s birthday as well (geeky girl fact).
We had a great time Friday night at the Democratic Republic of Beer, which boasts a hefty beer list from all around the globe! I was able to sample new brews and make some new favorites. However, the bar was tinier than expected so our relatively large group had a difficult time sitting and interacting. I’d love to go again, just as a pre-party or post-party spot. It was way too tight in this humid weather to bear for more than a couple of hours.
Unfortunately, Saturday night’s festivities were tarnished a bit during our visit to Crazy Pianos. Really sad because we were having a great time up until “the incident.” I would hate to hash it out all over again here on the blog, but if you are interested in what happened, you can read my scalding Yelp review here. All I have to say is that I am very lucky to have such amazing friends in my life because instead of the night being ruined, it was merely a bump in the road. We continued our party elsewhere and ended it eating greasy food at 5am.
I really cannot complain, my life has been amazing and every year gets better and better.
Here’s to being a year wiser, spunkier and happier!
ps; Comic Con Day 4 will be up & ready tomorrow morning! I haven’t forgotten!

I’m glad that it all went well, and that you had an amazing time… you looked great!

I agree with you on Crazy Pianos. I hate that place. I was taken there for my 29th birthday in April and it SUCKS. It’s hot, nasty and expensive. For some reasons my friends dragged me there again after watching Eclipse and it was so crappy I had to get my father to pick me up at 2am. IT SUCKS.

Just looked through all the birthday photos – looks like you had a blast! Wish I could’ve been there. 🙂
I’m glad the piano bar debacle didn’t ruin your night! That sounds totally ridiculous.

I tried not to let it piss me off, but I won’t lie..it did.
Wish you were there too, Anika (& Rosie!).
Janet – glad to see I’m not the only one that had a bad experience there 😐
