I remember a few years back when I had what seemed like back-to-back weddings every month. Well, now things have shifted and we are at the stage where it is one baby shower after the other. I’m not going to lie, I’m not a fan. OK, so I usually groan when I receive an invitation to one. However, I really appreciate when a couple understands what makes a baby shower downright boring and try their best to do the complete opposite. Cue one of my oldest friends, Camero. She knows what’s up.
Instead of a girls only event complete with ridiculous games (that poop/chocolate one is so unnecessary, and the “don’t say the word baby” one is even worse) and the absence of any decent liquor, they opted for a coed party on the sand of Key Biscayne firing up a good ‘ol pig and dishing out guamosas. Now this is a baby shower I could get behind. It was at the beautiful Bill Bagg’s Park, which I had never been to, and we enjoyed the most gorgeous view of Downtown Miami behind a blanket of clear blue water. Really a beautiful and relaxed set up. The hubs and I are already planning a little date there later this summer!
Anywho, I had to fit the beach casual attire, but still wanted to look more put together than throwing on a pair of shorts and a tank. I found this adorably cute Harajuku Lovers beach cover up at our new local Plato’s Closet (visit with a lot of time to browse through many, many racks), and just cinched it with a big, black belt to make it a bit more flattering. It was perfect for a sunny, breezy day at the beach!

Sounds like a pretty ideal baby shower AND you looked fab! Now what’s better than that? 😉
