Chicago in Pictures

I could just babble about our recent trip to Chicago, but I’m sure you all tire of my mumbo jumbo every now and then. So instead, here are the highlights of our trip in photo form. I honestly wish I could take a trip like this one at least one weekend a month. It was so fun, refreshing and exciting. Let’s do it again in the near future, Chicago!

View from our hotel room at the Hard Rock

Storefront of Uncle Fun.

What can be found inside Uncle Fun.

What can be found inside my BELL-EH: Swirlz gluten-free cupcakes.

Cupcakes and free bubbles: all I need in life.

The best martinis I’ve ever had in my life from The Blue Stem.

Which I shared with a pretty special lady <3

I don’t think Chicago saw a lot of my face.

The beautiful bean on a beautiful day.

My guy and I at the bean.

One of the lions at the Art Institute looking over the city.

Perfect day for a boat ride!

There was a lot of wandering…

Navy Pier is very different in the summertime (aka; jam packed).

Epic dinner at The Purple Pig.

Where I had my first experience with Lardo, and where we became fast friends.

Had to visit The Meli Cafe!

My first time blowing dandelions (I know).

Punk rock pastry? I approve.

Gabbing over beers at a local pub before driving to the airport.

& one last silly portrait before saying goodbye.

It really was an awesome time, and I found myself having a hard time coming back home! Sometimes you just need to mix it up a bit.

I don’t want to live in a world without cupcakes – I know you understand 😉
I’ve never seen a dandelion in Miami in my life. Don’t know if they don’t grow here or if I just have not been all that perceptive.

I wanted to go to the purple pig when I was in Chicago last year but the line was always out the door. Looks like you had a fun trip!
