I was so stoked to hear that Espionage Cosmetics was launching their own subscription service full of geek makeup and accessories. For those of you not in the know, Espionage is the premiere retailer for all things both geeky and girly. Β They even made the hop from online to brick and mortar by opening up their own shop in Washington, The Geek Boutique. Their next endeavor, however, was one that spoke to my heart: a subscription box full of makeup, lifestyle items and accessories inspired by geekdom ($30/month). I was sold! So were a lot of others, apparently, because the first box sold out pretty quickly. I’m glad I was able to sneak my way in and snag a spot in time – the first box was so much fun!
I was shocked with how many goodies came inside the box, and that they were all things I will definitely be using! There was a tester for Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab’s Crimson Peak collection, a dragon-themed pendant, a peppermint bathbomb shaped like a cupcake, a button reading “self rescuing princess” (totally dug that), a killer Furiosa print by Sam Skyler, and a dragon scale headband!
As if all that wasn’t enough, there was MOAR!
We also got some eye glitter (I’m sure it could be body glitter in general) in this really festive color scheme! I used to be a really big fan of adding glitter to my eye makeup back in college and haven’t toyed with it since. I usually just buy shadows that have glitter incorporated, but this fun little pot is making me want to experiment with it again! If I do, I’ll try to either make a video or a blog post detailing how I achieved the look.
Finally, they included a new Wyvern Scales nail wrap set, which I am going ga-ga over! I had already tried on another nail wrap set from them (see here), and absolutely fell in love! They were so easy to apply and truly lasted for 2 weeks! In fact, I removed them after 2 weeks not because the decals were chipping, but because my nails had grown so much! If you can’t sense my enthusiasm for these wraps, just check out all the exclamation points ending these sentences. π
I also love that as subscribers, we will receive at least one new design of nail wraps in every box. For me, these wraps alone are worth the box, as I don’t have time for traditional manicures anymore with a newborn. I’m sure I’ll get back to my usual polishes in a bit, but I’ve been using nail decals since Luna was born to maximize time but still look presentable. This geeky mom approves!
And there you have it, the loot in its ultimate glory. I was really happy with everything that came in the box. The only things I would have liked to see that weren’t included were their lip serums and everything shadows, but considering we got a lot of lifestyle items, I’m happily content. I can’t wait for the next box, and hope by that point, I’ll be able to do a proper unboxing video (& maybe Luna will make a cameo)!

Wow, it looks like this box was packed with goodies. Thanks for your review, I’ve been really curious about this one, but I think I’m gonna have to wait until the exchange rate with Canada is a little better. π

IT Cosmetics sells this liquid that is for glitter and it makes it stick onto your lids…I want it and I want to try more glittery looks too. You’re lying that you have not played with glitter since college, monkey <3
