I’m sorry this post came so late – we had a really busy (but wonderful) weekend and we didn’t have today off like the majority of you lucky people! Our Valentine’s Day was amazing though. Completely low-key in traditional Sanchez style, but very romantic and special.
I really love dress shopping (no secret on this blog), but I really hate how I often times have to pick the runners up because my favorites for events are usually way out of my price range. So I stroke them a few times, give them a kiss and then set them back on the rack. But I just discovered the site, Wear Today Gone Tomorrow, and I cannot wait to give it a try! The site is much like those seen for purses or even camera lenses – you get to borrow high-end designer dresses at 90% off for however long you’d like and then return them right back and pick up a new one! The lovely Paul and Joe Sister number above is one of the dresses on my current wish list and is only $34.50/week. Best part is I doubt I will need any of my dresses for more than one week as I’ll just be snagging them for special events like weddings, parties and showers. Has anyone used this site before? I plan on giving it a test drive next month so I’ll let you all know how it goes!
Melificent is a year old!
Although all my major plans fell through: no one submitted any videos (sad face), the hubs is backed up & doesn’t have time to work on a new layout for me (boo) and things have just gotten too complicated for an anniversary photoshoot, I still didn’t want my one year anniversary to come and go without any mention.
When I started this blog, it was mainly out of Livejournal withdrawals. I needed somewhere, something to write my ideas, thoughts and just general rants in. I had spent too many years with a blog and felt empty without one. I never imagined so many people would be reading about my life and my interests, much less following it religiously as some of you have admitted to doing. I also thought the idea of posting daily was really daunting, I figured it would drain me and I would eventually get sick of it and just give up. Never ever would I have thought that it would be anything but a chore. Granted, I’ve had my moments where life catches up to me and I can’t post regularly, but those have been far and few between. I genuinely love my blog and look forward to writing posts to share with all of you.
My first year has been more than I could ever dream, and I hope Melificent only continues to grow. I have a feeling my second year will be amazing – I have a lot of projects on the horizon and can’t wait to share them all with you here on the blog!

Yeah so you can definitely tell I was influenced by my little My So-Called Life marathon over the weekend. I got a request from my favorite princess, Daniella, to feature Mr. Leto this week for hump day and I couldn’t really say no. Who could to this face? Unfortunately, he isn’t looking as hot lately as he did back in the days of Jordan Catalano, but that doesn’t stop me from listing his band, 30 Seconds to Mars, as one of my main guilty pleasures. So enjoy the pic spam and feel free to dream of the days when he was more of a Frozen Embryo.
So after incessantly guessing what my Valentine’s Day surprise could be, my husband caved and gave it to me last weekend! That’s right, I got my pretty little Fujifilm Instax Mini!!! I am so thrilled. He’s the best hubby ever! Plus, he assures me I have more gifts to open on Valentine’s Day so I didn’t spoil it completely. 😉
I’ve started to play with it a little, but I’m really excited to put it to use at some of the photoshoots the hubs and I will be doing in the next couple of weeks. It definitely gets a lot of attention when I pull it out of my purse but since film is so expensive, I try to tuck it back in there after a couple of shots. It requires a lot of self control 😉
I do hope to have a whole series to share with you once I’ve played with it longer!
