Saturday was a highly anticipated day in the world of Melificent. I was finally going to see The Deathly Hallows with some of my closest friends at Cinebistro, a 21+ theater that serves you dinner and drinks as you enjoy the movie. Without giving away any spoilers (I know a lot of people have yet to see the film), the movie was nothing short of incredible. It stayed true to the book and really did a great job evoking all the intense feelings that are swimming all throughout the series closer. I’ve always complained that watching the movies does not compare to reading the books, but while watching Part 1, all the same emotions I felt while reading the book came right back up to the surface. In other words, I was a big heaping pile of loser. I don’t even know how I’m going to handle the second chapter, perhaps with an industrial size tissue box.
Happy Belated Hump Day: Hogwarts Edition
I know. It’s not hump day. Yesterday was hump day. But cut me some slack, I couldn’t dare post about some hot piece on the day of my wedding anniversary. It would just be wrong. Anyways, I’m a strong supporter of better late than never, and these guys were worth the wait. Literally. We’ve watched the Potter kids grow up as they’ve played the roles of some of our most beloved literary characters: Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. And now, in only a matter of hours, theaters will be throwing open their doors to welcome the throngs of dedicated fans that have been waiting anxiously to lay eyes on the first half of the last chapter of the series. My one tip for tonight’s viewers? Bring Kleenex. Lots of it. Accio picspam!
Potter Heads
Chances are, if you read my blog, you are a part of some sort of fandom. And the chances, again, are pretty high that one of those fandoms is the Potter franchise. If you are a Potter fan (or Potter Heads, as we are called), there is a serious countdown in your agenda right now: the premiere of Deathly Hallows Part 1. The movie will be released on November 18th in both traditional and IMAX theaters, and I already have my tickets for opening weekend in hand! Not only will I be attending the movie itself, but I will be attending a themed party afterwards so it is imperative that I ditch that boring Muggle wear and pick up some wizard-worthy threads. Thankfully, I’ve found the Evietees Etsy Store! They carry all sorts of fun Potter gear that cannot be found in your run-of-the-mill, local Hot Topic assuring that you will be wearing a unique piece of Potter-dom. Accio fun!

Lovable Friday: Halloween 2010 Edition

Nothing says Halloween like arts and crafts. And when I say arts and crafts, I mean the queen of them herself, Martha Stewart. Sure she’s creepy, a low-talker, and yes, she may even look like she’s ready to snap on a sweet gingerbread man at any moment. But she certainly knows how to host a party. These pumpkin faces are just adorable, and are easy to do for any Halloween occasion. All you need is a jar, candy to fill the jar, a pumpkin and soft candy to mold however you please for the silly/scary faces.
