Life with Luna: Pawnee Goddess

IMG_1482

Luna is growing by the minute, which is making it really fun to dress her. She is finally filling in and fitting into more of her quirky, stylish outfits and although she still can’t leave the house or have visitors, it doesn’t stop me from dressing her up for just the two of us. That’s what cooped up fashion bloggers find themselves doing to pass the time. 😉

Fandom of the Month Club: 1 Year Anniversary

FOTM Club

It’s hard to believe that Fandom of the Month Club has already been around for a year! It’s even harder to believe that I’ve been with them since {nearly} the beginning. I think I jumped on board the 3rd box, and have been hooked ever since. Sure, some months have not corresponded to my fandoms, but it’s always nice when I’m able to gift an entire set to a friend (and that’s only happened twice). This month, the team was teasing a bigger and better set with it being their anniversary and all. I was so incredibly excited to see what goodies it would hold and I was not disappointed.

First off, all the pieces were for fandoms I adore, so that made me grin from ear to ear. There was a TARDIS ring, dragon stud earrings, a mockingjay keychain, Harry Potter charm bookmark, and my personal favorite: a LOST necklace. I had such a ridiculous fangirl moment when I saw it – and it’s commemorating one of the most gut-wrenching scenes with my favorite character. I’m not joking when I say I may wear it every day. Erin mentioned that she would love to do an entire LOST themed set, but she didn’t think that it would be received well. That makes my heart so sad. I would absolutely LOVE to see what she would curate – can you imagine a DriveShaft ring?

Everything included was awesome, except I have to admit that I was a little confused by the bookmark. I actually had no idea what it was when I initially opened it. My husband and I racked our brains trying to figure it out, and it wasn’t until someone commented on the official Instagram that I found out it was a very elaborate bookmark. This is the one item I was a little disappointed in. Sure, it is absolutely gorgeous, but it’s very heavy and I don’t think very practical to actually be used as a bookmark. Again, the charms are so beautiful, I would have liked to see them be used for something like a charm bracelet. Now that would have looked killer.

Overall, I was really happy and know I’ll be sticking with this subscription service for the long haul!
Do you subscribe to FOTM club? If so, what was your favorite piece this month?

Life with Luna: 6 Weeks

6wks

Oh, this perfect little creature only gets better. Although we are struggling with constipation still and all the joys that come along with it (mainly hysterical screaming for hours), Luna is starting to become more aware of her surroundings. What does that mean? A whole lot of social smiling, silly expressions (I love her one eyebrow raise), and cooing. She’s awake a whole lot more during the day, which means I actually get to play with her instead of just stare at her sleeping. It’s pretty magical.

She still hates tummy time, but is ridiculously good at rolling over – as in, she does it over and over again anytime I put her in the activity gym. She’s now fitting into most 0-3M clothing, but her feet are so big, sometimes they don’t fit into the footsie pajamas (like father, like daughter). She is starting to snuggle after feedings, and whether it is involuntary or not, I love that she strokes my shoulder and back. It’s kind of the sweetest thing ever. 🙂

With the holidays upon us, I am so excited to start new traditions with Luna and incorporate her into old ones. Not being one for the holiday spirit, I’m thinking the tables may turn now that she is in the picture. What are your favorite holiday traditions with your fam?

ps; I realize this isn’t the cutest shot of the little moon, but I absolutely love it because she is making the same exact face I did in one of my own baby pictures! I gotta take what I can get since she looks just like her daddy! 😉

What I Wore: My Backpacks Got Jets {Sent From Mars Giveaway}

IMG_6690 copy

Christmas season is upon us, and for those geeky individuals like ourselves, this holds a little more meaning this year: Star Wars! That’s right. We are mere weeks away from the premiere of The Force Awakens, which is incredible to wrap my head around. I totally remember seeing the first teaser, and feel like that was just yesterday. A lot has happened in a year for me – little did I know while watching that teaser that I would be a mom to an amazing baby girl and collaborating with such an amazing shop as Sent From Mars!

I had been a big fan of Mari’s work before we both were nominated for Geekie Awards, but that’s when our relationship blossomed. Mari is beyond talented and makes the most beautiful fandom-inspired leather clutches that are sure to make your wallets weep. I had such a fun time putting together a Boba Fett-inspired outfit around this one amazing clutch (& was pleased I am starting to fit into some pre-pregnancy clothes), and am even more excited that I can give you guys the opportunity to snag one of your own in time for the premiere!

Melificent’s Ultimate Geeky Holiday Gift Guide

The holidays! They are upon us, geek girls. There is no denying it any longer. They are here, and you must brace yourselves. Braving the mall may be something on your list of December to-do’s, but I honestly rather sit at home with no pants and a bottle of wine and knock out my list with efficiency (and a nice buzz). If there are any geek girls on your list (of course there are), I’ve compiled a really fun guide of some of my favorite finds for a variety of different ladies.  Happy gifting!

accessories

Know a geek girl that likes to express her fandoms through subtle (or not so subtle) accessories? These are some of my favorite details that will add the boom pow to any outfit! A lot of these also make great stocking stuffers!

1. BB-8 Clutch | 2. Subscription to Fandom of the Month Club | 3. Death Star Earrings | 4. Magical Girl Necklace | 5. Potter Socks
