Weekend Highlights!

No photos were taken this night, so I had to opt for an old knottie GTG shot!

I was lucky enough to spend some quality time with a few special girls Friday night for happy hour at Chili’s! While planning my wedding a few years ago, I met some pretty amazing ladies on The Knot. Without them, I’m pretty sure I would have lost my sanity countless times throughout my 2 year engagement. We don’t get to see each other much now because of our busy schedules, but were finally able to meet up for a couple of drinks. It was great to catch up as well as gossip as only Nesties can. Hopefully the next time will not be so far between!

Saturday night brought one of my best friend’s birthdays. We all celebrated in her new apartment (which is super cute) with finger food and the most delicious strawberry mojito mix made with Bacardi’s Dragon Berry vodka by the birthday girl herself. It was great spending time with all our best friends: lots of Wii, laughs, drinks and True Blood debates! And as if all of that wasn’t good enough, we ended the night at Denny’s nom-nom-ing on a Moons Over My Hammy. Perfection. Happy birthday, Elissa!

Weekend Highlights

I hope you all had an amazing Fourth of July weekend complete with food, booze, friends and family. I know we did! Having to start a new (full) week is really going to be difficult!

Friday night we held our much anticipated RockBand party, which was a hit. Despite a now broken cymbal pad on our drum kit and a few shattered beer bottles, I’d like to say it was a success! Everyone wore their best rockstar eyeliner and I spent 20 minutes teasing my hair (only for it to wimp out 10 minutes later). We have a ridiculous amount of liquor/beer left over so I do believe another party is in order. Maybe a pre-Comic-Con slumber party? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Weekend Highlights!

It’s pretty apparent we have welcomed summer here in South Florida – it’s been muggy, humid and disgusting outside. And nothing says summer quite like a pool party complete with BBQ! My friend, Adam, decided to do just that for his birthday on Saturday and we had such a great time. As always, hanging out with the AgencyNet gang was super fun and I got to break out my new bikini from Forever 21! Unfortunately, I got a little heavy handed with the booze and ended up having a classy moment at a Wafflehouse later that evening. Oops! I hope that as the summer continues we can keep rocking the pool parties – I should test out our community’s pool area, maybe I’ll throw one of my own! ๐Ÿ˜‰

sunday

Sunday brought a serious case of the hangover, which was only made worse by its pairing with school work as well as work-work. Bleh. Fortunately, I was rewarded later that night with the True Blood premiere! We went to James’ home and watched it together with a group of friends. To all fellow fans, how great was that opener? I can’t wait to see how this season plays out – it looks like it is going to be amazing! Augi has already promised to set up HBO at home so we don’t miss a moment! I plan on picking up a Merlotte’s shirt to wear to Comic-Con next month – gotta show my support, afterall ๐Ÿ˜‰

The highlight of our weekend was definitely on Saturday when we joined our good friends Camero & Tom at their place on Key Biscayne. Since it was so windy, we lounged by the pool instead of the beach with good Pandora stations, good beer and good conversations. It was great being able to catch up – Camero and I have been friends since we were 14 years old so we have quite the history together (consisting of badly put together 90’sย outfits and embarrassing obsessions with rockstars).

We then gorged ourselves on Five Guys Burgers & Fries and did some bargain shopping at the shops at Midtown. Overall, it was a great day and I hope we do it more often now that beach weather is upon us! For more pictures from our day at the beach, click here.

I hope you all had a great, relaxing weekend and that your Monday is as good as a Monday can possibly be. For all those Heroes fans that read my blog, tonight marks the Season 3 Finale! I honestly cannot wait to see what they have in store for us – I’ve heard it’s going to be epic! Team Sylar! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Weekend Highlights

Is it me or do the weekends seem to get shorter and shorter as time goes by?
I find myself gripping on to Sunday’s, hoping that they will never end, but fail.

Also irritating?
The fact that the weather has decided to be unbearably beautiful on weekdays and overcast & yucky on weekends. What’s up, Mother Nature?

I got the opportunity to swing by IKEA Friday afternoon to check out their patio furniture & was bummed to see a lot of the items I posted about last week either would not work or were out of stock (already!). Thankfully, I was able to mix & match some fun pieces I found and am super happy with the way it all panned out. Our patio is still not complete, but it is well on its way! For those of you interested in this look, it is made up of a Bollo folding table, 4 Marius stools in orange, 2 Majallby scented candles, Solig fly swatter and Solig solar operated lighting in white. Also, something that I didn’t pick up but thought was amazing was the Platta decking system, which has the power to turn any patio from blah to chic in two quick snaps! Unfortunately, I don’t know how smart that would be for us Floridians considering we would have to be removing & replacing the pieces with every hurricane threat. I wonder if there is a way to anchor them down?
