I pretty much love vintage anything, so when I stumbled upon these engagement photos on the lovely Jeune Marie blog, I nearly exploded! How flipping cute are these??? It definitely makes me wonder why I didn’t think of this idea for our own engagement pictures – rats!

While hitting up Old Navy earlier this week, I noticed two things: (1) their new “look” – new fun branding & design and (2) their fab new winter items! I’ve already discussed how much I love boots but I pretty much love winter wear in general – chock it up to wanting what you can’t have! Here in Miami, we don’t get a lot of opportunities to bust out some hot winter fashions, which I believe is the reason why the hubs and I like to travel to other cities during winter months! Anywho, I was really impressed with their great cuts, patterns and styles – plus, you obviously cannot beat the price! One of my favorites aside from the lovely plaid coat featured above was the military style jacket in candy apple red. Yum!

Although I post about fashion and cute boys on a regular basis, don’t mistake me for a snotty priss. There’s nothing I enjoy more than coming home, knocking back a beer and playing videogames. True story. Last week, the hubs was awesome enough to come home with a new game: Need for Speed Shift for PS3 and I am in love! It’s a racing game (obviously), which already makes it a winner in my book, but I love how realistic it is while still being playful – real cars with real stats that you can paint and customize any way you’d like! You race on different tracks (many of them are real) to gain points that allow you to move up in tier level. The higher you place, the more money you earn to use in the car lot! It is so ridiculously fun and boasts some beautiful graphics! You can only imagine how competitive the hubs and I get while playing (all in good fun of course!). Plus, I think I may be in love with the narrator – he has the most delicious English accent!

As if Drew Barrymore couldn’t get any cooler, she goes and makes her directorial debut with the movie, Whip It!, which comes out in theaters today! Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it to the sneak preview last weekend and it looks like I won’t be able to again opening weekend because of this cold but I am itching to do so! It tells the tale of beauty queen turned roller derby diva and stars the amazing Ellen Page (Juno). What’s not to love? Has me thinking about what my derby name would be? Malicious Melificent? Murderous Meli? The possibilities are endless!
By the way, if you are a fan of Ms. Barrymore (or a Drewbie as they like to call themselves), check out my amazing friend, Ashley’s, website: The Drewseum and tell her Meli sent you! She’s been a fan for years and is really dedicated to supporting both Drew and fellow fans.

I am so happy that it is finally October because aside from July (my birthday), it is my favorite month of the year! Why? Because it ends with my favorite holiday ever: Halloween! Who doesn’t enjoy dressing up, being silly and pretending to be someone else for a day? I personally cannot wait to have a house so I can go all out with Halloween decorations! A little festive sign to hang on my door is going to have to do for the apartment this year π

Do you have an album of your engagement pics? I forgot what you did. I’m still wondering if I should do them since the wedding is a year away and we’re looking into photographers now. Too bad it’s already to cold for the beach in NY!!
