Saturday finally brought Augi’s 28th birthday! We worked hard to get the kickball theme right and were kind of worried when we saw the ominous clouds floating round as we were preparing to head to the park. In typical Miami fashion, not only did it rain but it was torrential. Thankfully, it decided to stop for the 4 hours or so that we had the field reserved – perfect! We were amazed at the number of people that showed up and how much fun we had. Our custom team shirts looked great and were a complete hit with all our friends. We had quite a close game, but the Black Robocops took it 4 to 2 in the 9th inning! I don’t know about everyone else, but I noticed how horribly out of shape I was afterwards and am definitely paying for all my antics in the form of some nasty soreness. Maybe we should play more often? 😉
Anyways, thanks to everyone that came out and joined in on the fun (and those that watched from the sidelines). We love you all!
Sunday morning we rolled out of bed, battered and bruised, to join my family at the South Florida International Auto Show. I was very excited because I couldn’t remember the last time I had been & Augi felt the same. We had such a good time checking out all the new models and oogling cars we will never be able to afford. I, however, was on a different mission since my car will be paid off in a few months. I’ve decided to hand my current car over to the hubs and get a new one. Since (hopefully) we will be homeowners in the near future, this next car is going to have to be a little more cost efficient as well as less sporty due to being in the baby-making business in a couple of years. I’m pretty sure my decision was solidified after checking out the Nissan Cube. Granted, I’ll have to do a test drive in the future when I’m ready to buy, but I’m pretty sure I’ve found my next car. Very, very different from what I currently drive (an ’06 Mustang GT), but something I see myself enjoying despite its lack of guts and glory.
My other favorites?
The Chevy Camaro (the Transformers package was pretty bad ass although totally useless and kind of ridiculous), Audi S5 and new Mustang GT convertibles.
Definitely check out the show if you are looking for something fun and different to do in the Miami area!
ps; Due to a pretty hectic week at both work and school, I will be handing several of my blog entries this week to a guest blogger. I trust him with all my heart & I hope you enjoy what he has prepared! 😉
