Lovable Friday!

1. Tim Burton's Installment at the MoMA

Is it now considered cliche to love Tim Burton? How Hot Topic of me. I am, as always, envious of all New York City residents because now they can see this exhibit at the MoMA until April of 2010. The exhibit includes props from his movies, sketches and amazing designs from one of the most creative minds in Hollywood (in my opinion anyways). I’ve begged the hubs to take me on a weekend trip to NYC just so I can hit up this event. Anyone that has gone or is going, please feel me in so I can live vicariously through you!

After about a month with no concerts to look forward to (yes, this is a long time for me), I am so happy that I’ll be able to see not one, not two, but about 16 different bands on Saturday at the annual Buzz Bake Sale in West Palm Beach. Who am I really gunning to see? Metric: who I have yet to see live and seem to have so much energy, 30 Seconds to Mars: because they are my guilty pleasure and their new album kind of made me want to scratch my head, Our Lady Peace: one of my favorite bands while in high school that I never got the opportunity to see (used to be in puppy love with the lead singer, Raine Maida, who I see is still quite scrumptious) and finally Panic! At The Disco: just because I’m extremely curious as to their popularity & want to see if they really are Smashing Pumpkins rip-offs.

3. Forbo Flooring
3. Forbo Flooring

It is no secret that I am obsessed with flooring – wood laminate, hardwood floors, slick tiling, you name it! While looking through my favorite home decor blogs, I found a link to Forbo Flooring. Wow! These clickable squares allow you to design any kind of pattern on any surface – definitely lets the creativity flow! Unfortunately, I don’t know the price range for these babies, but was able to find several local dealers through their website I can ask in the future. Another example besides my obsessive checkered floors? Check out Troy & Angie’s new bathroom!

Could they be any cuter? Because they really can’t be. Pictures like this of these two make my little heart squee in pure joy. Is that sad? Oh well. Does a piece of you feel like they are looking at all their crazy Twitter messages and mocking us them? Mental note: do not send love notes to Gavin or Gwen via Twitter. Just kidding…..ahem.

5. This fabulous pink & green wedding!
5. This fabulous pink & green wedding!

My two favorite colors are pink and green. No other colors can compare, sorry. So looking at pictures of this amazing mountain wedding featured on Hostess with the Mostess made me just slightly jealous. I would have loved to have this color combo for my wedding if it was in the spring or summer – which I believe is just a death trap when living in South Florida (heat, mosquitoes, hurricanes, just to name a few) – so that just wasn’t an option for me. Thankfully, I was able to use them for my bridal shower decor so all worked out in the end! Anywho, really long story, just to introduce this adorable wedding – so many quirky, sweet details…I challenge you to not smile while looking through the photos!

Hey, I’m going to New York this month and I hadn’t planned on going to MOMA until I read this. I’m glad I read your blog, THANK You! By the way, it’s not “Hot Topic” to like Tim Burton, he’s brilliant and has been since before Hot Topic was taken over by children who think they are so cool they manage to become their own clique of “edgy” conformists.

    Ok, I want those floors!
Also, I will take as many illegal pictures of Burton’s exhibit as I can.
    <3 this post!

I was shopping at hottopic.com before stores even existed, it used to be really cool once upon a time. It’s too bad that Twilight has thrown up all over their stores. 🙁

I went to NYC this past weekend and the exhibit at MOMA was amazing. They had sketches and poems and little anecdotes and items built from his drawings and puppets from Nightmare Before Christmas and Frankenweenie. I would definitely recommend it although it’s pretty freaking cold in New York right now. Definitely check out the rest of the museum too though, they have works from Monet, Matisse, Seurat, Picasso, it was amazing.

I wrote that I went to NYC last weekend but it isn’t showing up. It was a really amazing exhibit and the rest of the museum is pretty awesome as well.

It’s there, Aliza!! I read it and commented back to it 🙂
Unfortunately, it looks like I won’t be making it to NYC after all so I really will be living vicariously through all you lucky visitors!
