Giveaway | While Meli’s Away, Elissa Will Play

For the first day of my Melificent.com takeover, I’d like to first say hello to all of Meli’s friendlies and hope that you all dont hiss and scowl as you read my posts. So to really loosen things up, I’m doing a giveaway. (Who says money can’t buy readers?)

A giveaway for what you ask? A giveaway for a fantastic movie. As some, if not all of you may not know, I’m a freakazoid for all things animated, and tomorrow DreamWorks: How To Train Your Dragon will be released on DVD and Blu-ray.

Lovable Friday

1. Cast of The Romantics for J. Crew

I’m sure some of you remember when I featured what I believe will be my new favorite movie, The Romantics, on Lovable Friday last month. Well, the very stylish and beautiful cast has been chosen to model J. Crew’s new fall fashion line. I think J. Crew’s modern yet classic aesthetic fits in perfectly with the young and hip actors from the film. My only complaint is…where’s Elijah? For more pictures from the shoot, click here!

Weekend Highlights

Like I expressed last week, I could hardly contain myself with excitement for the release of Scott Pilgrim. The hubs and I planned a date night on Friday consisting of dinner at Yellow Submarine (the best food truck in South Florida) and dessert at Sweetness Bake Shop. I had featured Sweetness on this past Lovable Friday, so I thought it would be appropriate to pay it my first visit! My full review is on Yelp, but to make a long story short & sweet (appropriate), it was lovely. My favorite were the Guayabera cupcakes, which were pure heaven. In fact, I would go back just to eat those. Over and over again. However, the bakery is full of all sorts of goodies, including daily rotating cupcake flavors, which leaves me with quite a few new treats to try for a long time to come! And if that sounds like a challenge…it is! Better up my cardio! 😉

Lovable Friday

1. Last LOST cast photo

DarkUFO just posted scans from the last issue of LOST magazine and they are both adorable and heartwrenching, at least for me, as a huge fan. The last episode pretty much wrecked me inside and out, especially when it came to the church scenes. I still can’t believe my favorite show is over. Sometimes I just really miss seeing their faces, it’s kind of pathetic, huh? But true. Nothing but love for my LOSTies!

Scott Pilgrimage.

That’s right, the movie all you geeky geeks have been dying to see is finally right around the corner! Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World will be out in theaters tomorrow and I don’t know about you, but my tickets have been purchased and printed since early this week! Luckily for me, Filter Magazine decided to shoot me over a copy of the soundtrack to hold me over until the premiere.

And it is good.
