Happy Hump Day: John Mayer

Ah, John Mayer. I definitely have a love/hate relationship with you. I adore your music and lyrical stylings, but your personality? Not so much. For all those JM fanatics, I know that he may just be misunderstood by the media and that things have been blown out of proportion, but there’s just something about him that is so arrogant. However, none of that takes away from his amazing musical talents and mind-blowing live performances…and his boyishly good looks. Am I right? So I guess the good outweighs the bad with Mr. Mayer and I suppose I can overlook some ill-timed comments and irritating tweets. Well, at least to put together this lovely hump day post! Weekend Highlights

Like I expressed last week, I could hardly contain myself with excitement for the release of Scott Pilgrim. The hubs and I planned a date night on Friday consisting of dinner at Yellow Submarine (the best food truck in South Florida) and dessert at Sweetness Bake Shop. I had featured Sweetness on this past Lovable Friday, so I thought it would be appropriate to pay it my first visit! My full review is on Yelp, but to make a long story short & sweet (appropriate), it was lovely. My favorite were the Guayabera cupcakes, which were pure heaven. In fact, I would go back just to eat those. Over and over again. However, the bakery is full of all sorts of goodies, including daily rotating cupcake flavors, which leaves me with quite a few new treats to try for a long time to come! And if that sounds like a challenge…it is! Better up my cardio! 😉

Lovable Friday

1. Last LOST cast photo

DarkUFO just posted scans from the last issue of LOST magazine and they are both adorable and heartwrenching, at least for me, as a huge fan. The last episode pretty much wrecked me inside and out, especially when it came to the church scenes. I still can’t believe my favorite show is over. Sometimes I just really miss seeing their faces, it’s kind of pathetic, huh? But true. Nothing but love for my LOSTies!

That’s right, the movie all you geeky geeks have been dying to see is finally right around the corner! Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World will be out in theaters tomorrow and I don’t know about you, but my tickets have been purchased and printed since early this week! Luckily for me, Filter Magazine decided to shoot me over a copy of the soundtrack to hold me over until the premiere.

And it is good.

Happy Hump Day: Jim Parsons

If you are a good geeky girl like me, you found yourself glued to the TV Monday nights (but Thursday nights starting 9/23) unable to stop grinning like a magpie while watching The Big Bang Theory. I can’t really tell you how hard this show makes me laugh and that’s mainly due to one of the show’s main nerdtastic characters, Sheldon Cooper, played by the adorably quirky Jim Parsons. And apparently I am not the only one who enjoys his performance as he has been nominated for an Emmy not once, but twice and I hope this time around, he gets it! So enjoy the picspam, fellow geek girls and may the force be with you!
