Nerdy Must Haves

collage

Butts tee; If you are looking to casual cosplay as Tina Belcher, look no farther. This perfect ringer tee with “BUTTS” emblazoned across the chest will give you all the sensual vibes you need to portray everyone’s favorite awkward teen. Or if you are just feeling sassy, you can show your love for nice behinds while getting drinks with friends on a Sunday Funday.

Sherlock holy candle; This had me in stitches. If you grew up in a Latin household, chances are there was a little bit of superstition and a little bit of witchcraft in your life. I am well acquainted with these holy candles, and seeing them rocking Sherlock and John’s faces is just too much. I’d love to plop this bad boy on the table as part of my sacred space just as a reminder to not take life so seriously.

Darth Vader sleep mask; After frequent trips abroad and around the US a couple of years ago, I realized the importance of a sleep mask to shut the rest of the world out when you really, really need some shut eye. Now there are plenty of cute and stylish sleep masks, but none more demanding of attention and obedience than this Darth Vader one!

Vintage Disney brooch; Now that I have a little one, our trips to Disney will be way more frequent (goodbye Universal annual pass). This means all sorts of new fandom accessories and clothing (for the two of us)! One of my favorite new Etsy stores is Match Accessories and I am absolutely loving their line of vintage brooches. This beautiful wooden vintage “D” would make the perfect touch for your Dapper Day outfit or just pinned to a top with a Peter Pan collar.

What I Wore: Space Princess

DSCF5860

My style has slowly been evolving now as I’ve become a mom. I’ve realized some pieces that I used to rock on the daily no longer work for my new lifestyle. I often have to be carrying an infant, changing her on the fly and generally bending over a whole lot. This means I can’t really afford short skirts or too tight anything. A lot of fandom skirts tend to be of this variety, which is why I jumped at the chance to review the new knee-length style that will be offered in skirts at one of my favorite Etsy shops, UtinniBikini. I spent this entire day running around town with Luna in tow: from brunch to cocktails, and I never once felt uncomfortable in my clothes. This speaks volumes to a new mom whose body is currently in flux. I also love that you will eventually be able to get these skirts in any of her amazing fabrics so the options will be {nearly} limitless. I, of course, had to choose the galaxy AT-AT’s because…well, just look at it. It’s flipping amazing.

If you are interested in being a “guinea pig” for UtinniBikini’s new items as well, hit her up on Etsy. She’s currently looking for ladies to model more of these knee length skirts and crop topped sweaters!

Nerdy Must Haves

collage

1. Sherlock Crop; While we mourn the long and torturous wait that is the newest season of BBC’s Sherlock, we can at least look cute. This frilly cameo-style design makes it perfect to pair with high waisted jeans and a pair of Chucks for an understated fangirl look. For those of us rocking some new mom pooches, you can also layer it on top of a long tank or maxi dress.

2. Chibi Moon Skater Skirt; Something that will never go out of style in my mind is the high waisted skater skirt. I’m obsessed with them. In fact, it’s my go to when I’m putting together a geek chic outfit (the ones in my closet are *almost* fitting again), so if they already have a fun fangirl print, it is a no brainer when deciding whether it should be mine or not. This one is celebrating my newest favorite scout, Chibi Moon. Move over, Jupiter. Ever since becoming a mom, I love the sassy and adventurous spirit of Chibiusa!

3. I’m Your Mother Tee; Sure, everyone has seen plenty of merchandise, jokes and hashtags for “I am your father,” but how about giving the moms the love??? This tee does exactly that, and I am loving it! As both a Star Wars fan and new mommy, I couldn’t think of a better style staple to cover in spit up.

4. Star Wars Earrings Set; More Star Wars, I know. I promise I’ll stop…someday. But seriously, this set of little Star Wars themed stud earrings are too much! I think they are a little on the steep side coming in at almost $20, but I have to admit they are all sorts of adorbs and a subtle way to rock your love of the force on an every day basis.

What I Wore: The Force Awakens Premiere

IMG_0355

I finally got to see The Force Awakens this past Saturday! It was also the first date my hubs & I have gone on since Luna was born, which was a really nice and needed outing. Funny story: my hubs and I first met at an advanced screening of Episode II, so I believe our first date after baby to be kismet!

As for the movie, I’m not out to spoil anyone, so I’ll just say I loved it. It exceeded all my expectations and one scene in particular will forever remain engraved in my mind as being so moving. It made me whisper, “it’s about time” to myself with tears in my eyes.

With that said, I knew I had to have fun with my outfit! It was hard to plan with my new post-baby body ever evolving, and I feel like I didn’t nail the look I had in my head 100%, but this new bum seemingly cannot be contained in a skater skirt no matter what size! Also, pro-tip: don’t wear a very short skirt on a very windy day. Derp.

We Love Fine Launches New Star Wars Line

collage

Are you sick of Star Wars fashion yet?
Good, because I’ve got more coming at you this week!

We Love Fine continues to slay when it comes to geeky fashions and I’m totally obsessed with their new Star Wars collection. Now that I’m working out on a daily basis, I have my eyes on the rebel emblem joggers, and would wear the rebel dress on the daily. I love that it’s so girly! For my darker side, I’d indulge in both the darkside denim jacket and stormtrooper dress (possibly paired together). Swoon!

If you want to check out more from the line, go here and preorder now!
