Party with Pipsticks

IMG_5678

I absolutely loved this month’s Pipsticks package! It was party themed and I thought it was so appropriate considering Luna’s birthday is quickly approaching! I have been collecting the little typographical prints included in each package so I can frame them in my bathroom, and was happy to see that this month’s quote set the tone for all the sticker packs! They were really festive, bright and fun! There was even an ode to geekery with some Pikachu and Mario stickers, which I greatly appreciated. I can’t wait to decorate my agenda for the month of October with all these pretties!

I also loved the circular “Thank You” stickers, as they could be used to seal thank you card envelopes (I still have a few more to send from our baby shower – shhh) or be included in packaging if you own a small business. This month’s package came with a heartfelt message from Pipsticks’ founder about her journey to create this wonderful subscription service and it was really inspiring. I took these Thank You stickers as a personal thank you from her for being a part of this super fun sticker club, but I want to turn it around on them! This sticker pack gets me so excited every month – it’s like a bright sunshine-y rainbow that arrives in my mailbox so thank you, Pipsticks, for brightening up my little world on a monthly basis.

What I Wore: Moonie Power

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

It’s really no surprise at this point that I am a huge Sailor Moon fan – I mean, it really shouldn’t be. I adore all things magical and girl power so naturally I was drawn to the anime when I was a kid and still absolutely fawn over it as an adult. I love that with the success of Sailor Moon Crystal, all new sorts of merch is being put out there, but what I’m loving the most is those made with a lot of love by independent designers, like Geekilicious!

Elise makes all sorts of fangirl goodies, like throw pillows, iPhone cases and spiral notebooks, but she just recently started incorporating more clothing into the mix and I am so glad she did. She has these beautiful mini skirts and leggings made with such quality materials. I personally can’t wait to rock some of the mini’s once I get working on my post-baby bod, but I was excited to be able to play dress up with these fantastic Usagi leggings. It’s not every day that a pregnant girl gets to feel “super cute” in an outfit, but this one did the trick! Little pro tip? Pair leggings with not only a basic top, like I did, but also with a longer button down. This will help mask any “muffin topp-ing” that could possibly occur thanks to those new baby pounds.

Nerdy Must Haves

musthaves

Today’s must haves list is a little bit longer than usual, but I haven’t done one in so long that my wishlist only continues to grow longer and longer. I’m sure none of you are complaining (but your wallets may be…).

1. Unicorn Flats; I am trying my absolute best not to flail and hit the add to bag button on these absolutely perfect pair of mythical beasts. How flippin’ adorable are they? I already have a pair of kitty face flats, so these would naturally keep them company, right?

2. Pixel Heart Clutch; Talk about geek chic! This little pastel clutch would be the perfect accessory for a daytime wedding or a first date. I would personally wear it with a cute, swing-y dress while walking around Wynwood and enjoying some brews. Basically, the options are endless and so are the reasons you need it!

3. TARDIS umbrella; I’ve become such a sucker for adorable umbrellas lately. It’s understandable since they are a necessity with our unpredictable South Florida weather, but at times, the cuter the umbrella, the more useless it is. What I like about this one is that it seems like an appropriate size and looks to be sturdy. Too bad the price tag is a liiiiiiiitttlle steep.

Firmoo Giveaway!

firmoo

I’m sure you have spotted my Firmoo glasses in many an outfit post here on the blog (if not, you can see some of them above). I absolutely adore their frames because they offer both traditional and fun options at such affordable prices. Now, I don’t actually need glasses so I use them as purely a fashion accessory, so I can’t comment on them in terms of functionality, but I do love the way they look, their sturdiness and their ability to really help me seal in some geek chic looks.

So would you like to have your own pair from this amazing collection?
Yeah, I thought so.

Entering is so, so easy!

  • Leave a comment on this blog post stating which pair you would choose and why
  • Add me on Instagram & Twitter
  • Giveaway will run for 1 week (from September 23rd-September 30th) & at that point, a winner will be chosen at random

Nearing the Moon

collage

Things, ladies & gentlemen, are getting real. As I enter deeply in my 3rd trimester (as I’m writing this, I am already 34 weeks in), I am starting to realize that this is actually happening. A baby is going to join our party of 2 and my life will completely be changing (for the better, of course). I am no longer my bouncy, energetic self with a huge increase in symptoms and fatigue. Sometimes, I just want to lay in bed all day (and sometimes I actually do). My belly feels very heavy even though I realize it’s small, so it’s hard for me to maneuver around and sometimes hoisting myself up requires some assistance. My back and feet hurt, and I’m aching for a delicious cocktail or 7. 😉

But all these new changes, and at times, woes are so absolutely worth it when I think of what the end of this journey entails: a little bundle of Luna. Someone that is going to call me Mommy. It’s almost too much to wrap my head around and I have a hard time imagining what that connection and bond will feel like. My dreams have ramped up lately and they are all about labor and delivery. My anxiety and fear of the unknown about that experience is growing, but I have faith in my own strength and my doctor’s knowledge to get me through when the time comes.

One thing I do feel is ready. Ready for pregnancy to be over and to start this new chapter of my life. I didn’t think I would feel this way, but the anticipation to meet her, see what she looks like, what she is like in general and start on this “new parents” journey is pretty strong. I may feel differently when I have a hysterical crying newborn on me at 3am that refuses to latch leaving me in tears, but for now, I naively say, “lets do this! Or should I say, “Allons-y!” 😉
