This past weekend Augi and I watched Vicky Christina Barcelona and were blown away. Besides being an amazing story with fabulous actors, the scenery was breathtaking. It basically made us want to impulsively find airfare to Spain and throw whatever clothes we found into a suitcase. Seriously, I checked and found some pretty good deals, I must say. 😉
I also loved how almost all the characters were dressed head to toe in linen. Living somewhere as hot and humid as Miami, I’ve always been a fan of light & airy linen shirts & pants but unfortunately no longer have any pieces in my wardrobe. After watching VCB, it made me want to look as effortlessly comfortable yet stylish as both its female and male characters.
Unfortunately, my google hunt did not result in many suggestions, but Victorias Secret did have some pretty amazing linen pants to choose from albeit not very budget friendly:
Do any of my faithful readers have any suggestions as to where I can find some nice linen pieces that won’t break the bank?
Also, what is your fashion obsession lately?

I saw VCB a few weeks agon and was also floored by the well-deserved Oscar performance from Penelope. I”m so into linen, you have no idea…When I drop another 10lbs, I’m totally hitting up the stores for some drawstring linen pants (my favs) and new sandals 🙂
I know Old Navy ALWAYS does the pants because that’s where I usually get them…check there!
BTW, I had a little *squee* moment with your pic of Jvier in VCB…a little piece of me wishes I was Vicky rith there- LOL Javi’s on my list of hotness, which I haven’t forgotton I must put together and post 😉
Did you ever see Jamon Jamon? A MUST SEE if you’re a javi/penelope/almodovar fan!

When I first saw the trailer for this movie, I thought it was going to be pure fluff, but decided to see it solely based on the fact that I admire ScarJo and Penelope. Wow, I’m so glad I gave it a chance. VCB has become one of my top favorites. I’d just have to say I <3 the entire “feel” of this movie, from the idyllic Spain to its neurotic characters…definitely two thumbs up. Oh, and immediately after seeing it, I tried search for other movies to see in the style of VCB — so I’m going to check out Nadia’s suggestion above! Thanks Nadia.
Check out http://www.shopstyle.com. It’s like a search engine for clothing (I used it find the last dress I needed for a wedding, makes it so much easier than walking into every store at the mall). You can do a search for linen pants, and refine it by price, color, etc.
As for my fashion obsession lately, it’s not really a piece, but just trying to dress more my age and more professional and tailored in general. Sigh, that means no more jeans and F21 tops. Age 27, boo.
I’m really enjoying your blog!

Thanks for the heads up, Christine!
I haven’t started dressing my age yet – I’m still a slave for forever 21 and graphic tees 😉

I checked Old Navy but nothing yet! Maybe some new summer items will spring up later on…you know Old Navy and I are tight 😉
I have not checked out Jamon, Jamon but I will now!
