I am embarrassed to say that I forgot that the Golden Globes were yesterday! I woke up from a very much needed nap at 6pm, and freaked out when I saw my Twitter stream! The red carpet was in full effect and I was clueless – thankfully, my hubs got on it and hit the record button on our DVR. Crisis averted.
I have to admit that I wasn’t impressed with this year’s dresses. They just generally fell flat for me. But there were a choice few that really peaked my interest. In regards to the awards, I am so proud of David Fincher, Trent Reznor and the rest of the cast and crew of The Social Network. So very well deserved. I also teared up for Chris Colfer, of Glee, who won best supporting actor in a series, especially after he dedicated the award to the anti-bullying movement. Class act, that one.
But back to the gowns! Wondering who made my best and worst list? Well, wonder no longer…here it is!
Glee’s Dianna Agron, Easy A’s Emma Stone, Black Swan’s Natalie Portman, Temple Grandin’s Claire Danes, Mad Men’s January Jones, Black Swan’s Mila Kunis and Covert Affair’s Piper Perabo all made my best of list.
Halle Berry, Scarlett Johansson, Tron’s Olivia Wilde, Blue Valentine’s Michelle Williams and The King’s Speech’s Helena Bonham Carter, unfortunately did not.
I wish I could have gone into more detail as to why I loved and hated each outfit, but I sat back and enjoyed the show with no laptop in hand (only wine), so before I knew it, it was past my bedtime. I’d love to discuss with all of you in comments though – do you all agree, disagree or have more gowns to add to either list? Let me know!

Don’t worry….I didn’t realize they were today until I got home well after 11, so I missed the whole thing! From looking at (unbiased, of course, so as not to sway my judgement…) recaps online, I’d agree on your bests (although I wasn’t a huge fan of January Jones’ taped up boob look) and while Helena Bonham Carter’s dress was a mess, I loved the mismatched shoes!

….I meant yesterday.

I disagree w/ the January Jones best-dressed pick. I felt the top was ill-fitting & unflattering. Granted, she does have a bangin’ bod. It just wasn’t showcased properly.
I also disagree w/ the Michelle Williams as worst-dressed. She was fun 1960’s perfection to me.
And I have to agree w/ Sabrina – I expect no less from HBC than her quirky ensembles.

Mostly on the same wavelength with you, but Olivia Wilde was my absolute favorite. I would kill to wear that dress!
Plus January Jones looked gorgeous as always, but I wasn’t totally on board with the dress. Dianna Agron & Mila Kunis were fantastic.
Oh & I totally teared up for Chris Colfer too. He’s so precious. <3

Interesting to hear everyone’s opinions!
I cannot get on board with Michelle Williams’ dress. It is all sorts of awful. There are so many other ways to go vintage that would have been more flattering and appealing. It looks like something straight out of hobby lobby. And HBC is quirky, I know. And it is to be expected, I know. But jeez, it’s still ugly.
And I was surprised to hear so many of you didn’t like January’s gown. Although I don’t think I would be able to wear something like that and would not even give it a second glance, she did it justice. I really loved the fringe especially!

Totally loved Glee’s Dianna’s dress. I thought everything about her looked pretty and classic. But my favorite for the night was Modern Family’s Sofia.
And definitely agree with your worst dressed list. What were they thinking?!

I couldn’t agree more with Emma Stone for best dressed…but Natalie Portman’s dress I thought was terrible. I hated the baby pink fabric, I thought it looked cheap and I hated the red shoes, red rose, red purse and red nails, paired with pink. I hated the dress that Michelle Williams wore. She is my worst dressed pick. Not even Helena Bonham-Carter looked worse, and she was wearing 2 different colored shoes, hehe. On board with Dianna Aragon. Also liked how the girl from ‘grit’ was styled.

Maybe it’s b/c it was Natalie and she’s pregnant so it was cute.
It also helps that she is beyond gorgeous so she could wear a paper bag and look phenomenal. Bitch. 😉
I agree with Michelle Williams 100%, I think I had a physical reaction when I saw her on the red carpet. So.Terrible.
Who was the girl from Grit?
