I’ve always identified as a chubby girl, from age nine when my friends began calling me “Thunder Thighs” to today, where I find myself relegated to the upstairs, back-corner section of Macy’s “WOMAN” section. Being a plus-sized girl isn’t easy, especially when you’re surrounded by the superficial, body-conscious masses of South Florida.
Over the past few years, I’ve overhauled my wardrobe, going from 2XL t-shirts and jeans to dresses, skirts and blouses. After earning a double-platinum super rewards edition of the Lane Bryant credit card, I still found myself craving fashion that was out of my reach. Thanks to the amazing online community of plus-size fashion bloggers, I’ve slowly been amassing a great collection of pieces from curvy-friendly online retailers.
Here’s a peek from my latest hauls from Torrid and ASOS Curve.
Shirt: Torrid Black Dot Seamless Cami
Sweater: Retro Chic by Torrid Black And Silver Lurex Polka Dot Cardigan
Belt: Torrid Black Triple Bow Belt With Patent Trim
Skirt: ASOS CURVE Chiffon Midi Skirt (out of stock)
Shoes: Torrid Tonya Black Leather Wedge (Wide Width)
Glasses: SEE Eyewear
Nail polish: Orly Luxe
These wedges were the first “WIDE” shoes I’ve ever bought. They were a tad too large and a bit loose, but I was so excited for them that I couldn’t bare to return or exchange them. I love wedges soooo much!

Oh … Something’s changed since I took these pictures a week ago. I’ve joined the red-head club again. (Meli, you’re partially to blame for this!)

Very cute outfit! I still have yet to buy anything from ASOS.
That definitely needs to be remedied. 🙂
