So you may be wondering how I continue to make geek chic work in my favor while now starting my 3rd trimester. Honestly, it’s all about choosing the right maternity wear paired with the right cuts from your own closet. I have officially entered the phase where my regular pants do not fit in the least, so I had to go ahead and do the inevitable: buy maternity. But! I come to you with the hard work done: which fit the best and are the most flattering without looking frumpy and granny.
I’ve moved on to another crop top maternity ensemble: the crop top over the maternity tank. I personally love this look because it’s so comfortable paired with the right jeans (Old Navy’s Rockstar maternity line is awesome). I absolutely adore my Adventure Time crop because it is so colorful and allows for you to play with brightly hued accessories, like my Oh My Glob necklace & hot pink glasses!

I absolutely dig this look and actually wore it last week to work (I swear I’m a professional). This maternity look is swiped almost directly from my current wardrobe. The only maternity part of the ensemble is the ripped jeans from Asos, which fit like a dream. Otherwise, I tend to try to find the loose, boyfriend-style cut tops in my closet to use with either maternity jeans or a maxi skirt. This gives me the room my belly needs without making me look like a sausage in my clothes. Denim or utility jackets also give you extra coverage in case you are rocking the wrong bra for your top or to cover up any other messy situations, plus they allow you to add buttons or other geeky flair to your outfit.

Finally, the old maxi dress routine. However, I did geek it out with a Harry Potter hair bow as a little pin to add a fun statement piece. I went along with the magical elements and paired the look with my unicorn clutch. Best part is that any maxi dress will do – don’t stress about having to get it in the maternity department. It will be cheaper and look better in the long run. You can never go wrong with these from Target.

I love how you added the bow! What a nice touch. I will say that maternity wear has come along way since my mom had kids! My sister had some really cute jeans when she was expecting!
