The Hello Kitty Cafe truck made its way to Miami this past weekend and for a split second, I thought I wasn’t going to be able to go! I just registered Luna in daycare (sniff sniff), and they were holding an open house the same day and at the same time I was going to be visiting the truck. I had to adult at that moment and chose having Luna meet her teachers and classmates over kawaii time. But! Luna was in such good spirits after such a long and busy day, that we decided to take our chances and head over there in the early evening. It was such a great decision!
There was barely a line, and the weather was so beautiful. Luna was able to ham it up in front of the truck and I scored some awesome goodies! The truck featured a short and sweet menu of treats, such as cookies and macarons. You could also pick up some swag, like coffee mugs and t-shirts. At the end of the day, we decided to just go home with a box of macarons, but splurged a bit on Hello Kitty merch. I got both a t-shirt and mug for myself, and got some complimentary buttons and stickers along with them. I wish they would have had onesies or tees in Luna’s size! Aside from Mickey Mouse, Hello Kitty is definitely one of her favorite characters. She immediately recognized her on the truck and started pointing excitedly. She’s such a ham!
Although I didn’t get a chance to check out the other treats, the macarons were way too cute! One piece had a Hello Kitty face, while the others sported her signature bow. And what I loved the most was that they just weren’t for looks. These macarons were absolutely delicious! They definitely didn’t last long, but I managed to snap a couple of pics before their demise.
If the truck swings by your neck of the woods, definitely plan a visit. If you are a fan of Sanrio (like I am) or just a fan of anything kawaii, it is definitely worth the trip. I just recommend either getting their as soon as they park or a couple of hours before the event ends. Late morning to early afternoon really draws a crowd, and waiting in a gigantic line outdoors is never really fun.
