The holidays are upon us: Christmas tree tents are up, Target is impossible to visit on the weekends + Frozen 2 is out (can we talk about how amazing it was and how much you I cried?). It’s time to drown out all your relatives ridiculous comments in several bottles of wine while wearing your holiday best, and I’m here to share with you some of my personal favorites this holiday season. Also, warm hugs to those of you that struggle this time of year, it’s not easy for me either, but starting new traditions has made a world of a difference.
Now I’m not one for party dresses, or even glitter dresses (shocking, right?), but I do love me some glitter co-ords, especially if it’s a pant set. I am obsessed with this really fun one because not only is it super flattering with it’s high waist and stretchy material, but it is super comfortable and feels almost like you are wearing a pajama. If this doesn’t scream the perfect Thanksgiving outfit, I don’t know what would (aside from a giant muu muu, with plenty of pockets to stow away leftovers). I mean, it’s so comfortable I’m planning on wearing it on the plan when I fly to Vegas next year (so much more on that later!).
The holidays don’t always mean family parties. For me, it means lots and lots of visits from out of town friends, and at times, a whole lot of sightseeing for those that haven’t been here in some time. Miami has great weather, so a lot of out of towners are absolutely jazzed to come visit during this time of year so they can let their winter gear gather some dust for a bit and bust out the tank tops and jeans! That means I have to dress comfortably, while still looking good and put together, which means all the denim! Never really straying from my rock and roll roots often, I love to pair a band tee with a good pair of ripped jeans, and these are just all sorts of amazing. A huge bonus is that I get to show off my TARDIS tattoo while still wearing pants. Win/win, I say.
And if family get togethers and friend visits aren’t enough, my holiday season also is chock full of company holiday parties! Neither my husband or I work in corporate jobs, so we like to have a little fun with our holiday party looks. I just adore the look of a short and sweet dress, that has a little spunk to it, and that can be paired with a fun jacket or vest. I just love the color of this frock and how feminine it is. Sure, it might have caused me a little anxiety on especially windy days, but a little panic attack or two is worth it for this level of cute. I also love how versatile it is and had a lot of fun pairing it with my favorite kicks.
I can only imagine the look on the faces of those of you that follow my blog, and do not live where it is eternally summer (we welcome you, Olaf). I’m sure you are rolling your eyes at the lack of cold weather options, but low and behold: I come to you with a sweater dress. Sure, it is light and I threw it on the second the weather got in the 70’s because I am a Miami girl no matter how much I like to deny it, but it is a sweater, people! But seriously, I love that it is oversized and beyond comfy. As a mom, I’m sure you can notice a trend with me, fashion and comfort lately. It also comes in a variety of different colors, which is great!
Overall, I hope this helped you all think of different options for your holiday events and takes a little less stress off your plate during an already wild time of year. Please remember to take care of yourself, be patient and take time out to reset if you need to. Prioritize and enjoy the special moments that are splattered all over the stressful ones. Also, I hope you forgive all the Frozen references I splattered all over this post. I just can’t help myself.
