What I Wore: Broken Shaker

The hubs and I had been dying to try out what is being hailed as the best bar in Miami for quite a long time (hello, James Beard award nomination). It’s so well known that when we traveled to Orlando (twice), both times bartenders asked us if we had been. It was kind of embarrassing to say we hadn’t. So we took the plunge this past weekend, and despite the strange and fickle weather, we had a great time at the Broken Shaker.

What I wore was kind of perfect for the laid back, relaxed vibe of the place. The Broken Shaker is located on the patio of Freehand Miami Hostel, and it is kind of absolutely adorable. It didn’t have a very Miami vibe, which is what I loved about it the most. It reminded me of somewhere between L.A. and Spain (yeah, I know…weird), and definitely made me want to plan a staycation (Private King Suite please) just so I can relax by the pool and take in the bar every.single.day. Needless to say, we will be back. And frequently.

What I Wore: Reset

Sometimes things happen, and they just don’t make any sense. You spend many days and nights reeling, trying to understand why or trying to label it with some sort of significance because there has to be a bigger picture to all this, right? That, in a nutshell, is what has been swimming around in my head for the past week. You would think an outfit post would be the last thing on my mind, but (with the help and gentle nudging of the hubs) I want to try not to push away things that make me happy or are part of my normal routine. My smile may be a little forced, and my glitter a little dull, but I strongly believe I will make it through this very tough time.

What I Wore: Baby Blues

This weekend I got to hang out with friends (some I hadn’t seen in a very long time) to catch a little fire and pay our respects to our Mockingjay. Yep, we saw the newest installment of The Hunger Games and then caught up in our home with a little wine and maybe a little Sherlock. The movie was absolutely amazing – I love how true to the book they always stay and Jennifer Lawrence is a straight up goddess.

I did not go full fangirl like last time’s viewing, mainly because this blouse was too amazing to not throw on. I mean…the back? It is the perfect amount of subdued sexy. Since I was head-to-toe blue, I had to include some color to break things up. I hadn’t found an opportunity to wear this great over-sized triangle necklace until now – I love the way it gave the appearance of a faux collar. A Miami Girl Packs For the UK

I’m headed on a jet plane in a few to my favorite city in the world, London, but I wanted to share something with you all before I go! Although I am new to the whole vlogging world, I’m having a lot of fun putting these together.
