As you can tell from yesterday’s post, I love stumbling upon blogs of talented people that also happen to enjoy life to the fullest. A perfect example is Jessica Claire. Jessica is a wedding photographer who mixes personal posts along with her professional ones on her blog. One amazing post revolved around her 30th birthday, which she celebrated by holding an epic game of kickball with all her closest friends. Uh. Amazing. So much so that I hope Jessica doesn’t get insulted because I’m totally ripping off the idea for the hubs’ birthday this year. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? 😉
I absolutely love watches. Well, watches and shoes. If I were to become a millionaire overnight, I would be one of those ridiculous people that have a closet just for my shoes and a chest of drawers just to house my watches. True story. Anywho, how amazing is this watch??? The Cyclops (love the name) attempts to snap us out of our hectic lives by being the vaguest time teller ever: each hour is represented by a different colorful dot that doesn’t make the exact time very apparent. I, personally, would love to say “it’s 6-ish” when someone asks me for the time next so I must have this watch. Too bad it is currently sold out. Boo, you whore.
This ties in with what I said above: SHOES! I love shoes and I absolutely adore boots. I usually can’t wear them since I live in tropical paradise so I’m glad the booties, which are less winter-ish, are in style. These from Charlotte Russe are absolutely fabulous in every sense. I’m already thinking they’d be great to rock to the Muse/U2 concert in October! Yes, I know, I need a shopping intervention.
I have to thank my dear friend, Penn, for this one. She left me this video by Kate Miller on my Facebook profile (how appropriate). It is quite possibly the funniest little ditty about how & why people you hate (yes, I generalized to all hated people, not just exes) decide to friend request you on Facebook. It’s freaking genius. Plus, this girl has got a set of pipes! Enjoy and share with those you love (& hate).
I’m pretty sure everyone remembers the PBS show, Reading Rainbow, from when we were kids. I know I grew up on it – being a huge fan of reading. In fact, I’ll bet 100 bucks that you all still remember the theme song! Although this isn’t the most lovable thing to post about, Reading Rainbow’s broadcast is coming to an end after 26 years of encouraging children to pick up a book and read. Pretty sad, but you can’t help but smile when remembering the memories – and that’s what made it make today’s list.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

In order…
that kickball party is a fabulous idea!!! Personally i’ve always wanted to do a bouncehouse party for myself, but since my bday is august, I think it’s a bit too sweltering outside for that, but I might choose a random winter day to celebrate myself with one…
I may rip off the kickball party next year or something…or like a giant kids’ theme party, but for adults: have a bounce house, kickball, red rover and a cotton candy machine.
That watch is FAB.
We’ll all miss Reading Rainbow!!!

This art teacher NEEDS that watch.
That is all.

Love everything you posted, especially the watch and the shoes!
BTW, I’m so bummed about Reading Rainbow. Not only did I grow up watching it, but my students love it and there’s always an episode to tie into a lesson. It really is so sad =(

“Take a look, it’s in a book, the reading rainbow!”
I totally loved it. The kickball party sounds like so much fun!
