It’s finally here! The wait is over, Truebies – HBO’s hit show (& seemingly everyone’s obsession), True Blood, will begin its highly anticipated 3rd season on Sunday night at 9pm. HBO has teased us for months now with these mini posters (pictured above is the last of the series), character minisodes and plenty of shorts to wet our appetite. I’ve read up until book 5 in the Sookie Stackhouse series, which is what the series is based off of, and if they follow book 3’s storyline (but will probably deviate from), we are going to have a lot to look forward to! What am I most excited for? The introduction of Alcide, the hottie werewolf! Rawr.
I’ll be holding a little viewing party at my place complete with a themed potluck, fangbanger cocktails and fangs galore! VILFS welcome 😉
Another long wait is over. The Wizarding World has opened its enchanted doors to the public, hosting several soft openings for fans that purchased special packages as well as for media. Reviews are spilling all over the Internets and they are all basically one big resounding SQUEE! Visitors cannot get enough of the authenticity of the park and the fully immersive aspect of the world they have recreated. I’ll be there next week for the official grand opening on June 18th where I’ll be live tweeting as much as possible, but if you just can’t wait, check out this pretty comprehensive review. Also, did anyone else shit themselves at the sheer magnitude of Hogwarts in the photo above? Because I sure did.
Comic Con is just around the corner, barreling into San Diego next month and to my surprise, some panels have already leaked! Seat42F’s blog has announced some panels complete with times and even room locations – definitely helping me getting my fix until July! I’m really happy to see some of the shows that will be making an appearance at Con, especially Glee, True Blood, Fringe and Dexter. Look forward to more in-depth Con posts from me in the next couple of weeks – so fun!
The Finnish symphonic metal band, Apocalyptica, just released a new single featuring my hottie boyfriend, Gavin Rossdale, on lead vocals. The song, End of Me, is pretty freaking rockin’. G’s vocals are heavenly, as usual, and I hope that this is some sort of indication as to what we should expect from his new album, which he just announced on Twitter is expecting a fall release. So glad we got this little musical nugget from Mr. Rossdale though to hold us over until his own new material is ready for us. If you like what you hear, pick it up on iTunes!
I’ve blogged about this a few times already (or maybe I’ve just thought about blogging about it), but I want to try to incorporate more flowers into my decor. They just make everything so bright and happy, which totally fits the feel of our new home (lots of windows and light streaming through). So in my hunt for things floral, I stumbled upon this adorable Etsy store, Floresdelsol. It houses beautifully made modern floral arrangements by a professional floral designer and self-proclaimed “young mommy.” I can’t get over her creations! I especially love her use of craspedia (commonly referred to as billy buttons), which are one of my favorite accent flowers. She currently has a bunch of dried craspedia for sale which is really calling my name. Self control, Meli. Self control. Try to practice your own while browsing through her store.

This post was made just for me! It’s got all of my favorite things! Your best Lovable Friday ever! I am anxiously awaiting Sunday!
I’ll stop the exclamation points now, I’m just so excited. ^_^

I’m super excited about the Harry Potter thing at Universal, but be prepared to wait forever and/or be turned away. Hogwarts looks huge in that picture but up close it’s pretty small. I was just at Universal this past weekend. The entire Wizarding World of Harry Potter area is pretty small and cramped. I’m sure you know to get there crazy early, but be prepared for a nightmare rush of muggles.

Ugh, I am going to miss going to Comic Con this year! I hope you have twice as much of a good time for me. Can’t wait for the True Blood premiere and the Wizarding World is going to be awesome, but I think I’m going to wait until the crowds die down a bit before visiting, haha.

So many great things! It’s OK to overuse the exclamation point, Elsie – I do it all the time!
Aliza – I’ve heard only the shop interiors are cramped but that the park itself is pretty spacious. I’m not too worried about being turned away – I have a media hook up, but I am planning on getting to the park at about 5/6am. Nothing is too drastic for this muggle!
Rox – I will make sure to live it up for the equivalent of two people in San Diego, what a perfect excuse 😉

JK Rowling found witchy sounding names for instance toadflax, goutwort, grommel, and others in Culpeper’s Complete Herbal, a well-known book of herbal lore from the 1600s.
