Today’s Lovable Friday is a little more…lovable. Today marks the premiere of the last installation of Harry Potter films. Today, it’s over. It’s all over. After all the years of amazing storytelling, and equally amazing movies, it feels like the end of an era. After all, it is. Although all us Potter fans know how the story finally ends, there is still something so nerve wracking about sitting down to watch it replay before our eyes. I am so upset to say that I will not be watching it tonight (tickets went on sale for our local 21+ theater when I was a million feet above air), but rather Monday, so I hope not to hear too many spoiling reviews (ha, who am I kidding?). It is also the first time I see a Potter flick without a group of faithful Muggles. It will just be the hubs and I, which usually would be OK, except I am fairly certain I will be bawling my eyes out hysterically in a theater full of strangers. Better bring my own pack of tissues then and start practicing blaming a steady stream of tears on environmental allergies!
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful world with us, Ms. Rowling. You have brought a little piece of magic to each and every one of our lives.
I’m a sucker for personalized pencils. Add Potter-ness to that, and I’m sold. Unfortunately, I don’t know if these are real, or if the image was photoshopped. Either way, it’s a wonderful idea for a themed Potter party or a fabulous gift idea for the Potterphile in your life.
You just really have to love these stylistic book covers for the entire Potter series. Although I do not know who the artist is, I find them absolutely beautiful. How gorgeous would they look as prints hanging over your bookshelves? Eesh, I better not give myself any more ideas lest the hubs will slay me.
Us South Florida residents are lucky enough to be a hop, jump and skip away from a little piece of Hogwarts: The Wizarding World in Universal Studios. However, we cannot take a the best piece of it home with us: butterbeer! Taste tested by J.K. Rowling herself, Universal’s butterbeer is top notch, authentic and really gets you feeling like you are in Harry, Ron and Hermoine’s neck of the woods. Thanks to an industrious blogger, you can now try to replicate it in your own home when you are feeling especially magical.
My jaw dropped when I saw Tee Fury‘s shirt of the day last week: a gorgeous illustration of the Deathly Hallows. Like I’ve mentioned before, we are on a tight budget, so I had to refrain from purchasing it, but I have to say it was a very difficult decision. How amazing is this print? I think I may beg the artist to release some more. If not, I suppose I can just cross all my fingers and toes that I will get it during their next grab bag (highly unlikely). For all of you that were able to score one, I curse thee!
Perfectly simple. That is the best way to describe this print by Bobby McKenna. I personally love how you can partially see Harry’s lightning bolt scar against his silhouette. Just heavenly. Yet another print I’d like to see on my walls. Yeah, OK, so my house is going to look like some crazy Potter shrine – it’s not like that’s a bad thing, right? 😉

I saw it over the weekend and I won’t spoil anything but don’t you feel like it’s as if you’re saying goodbye to old friends? I cried when I read the last book because in all reality, they were written so perfectly that I KNEW them. I LOVED them. I shared in their heartbreaks and successes. I will genuinely miss Harry and the gang and the lovely actors that portrayed them. Tearing up again…it was just so hard to say goodbye.
