I was so excited when I got to try out the entire Alice in Wonderland collection from Urban Decay. As many of you know, I’m a beauty and makeup junkie, so I’m totally loving the idea of featuring more of that on the blog (tied in with geekiness, of course)! As long as I can remember, I’ve always lusted over Urban Decay products because they aren’t afraid to be bold and brash. Since I’ve always loved dressing up (whether I knew it was cosplaying at the time or not), their brighter shades always drew me in when trying to make an impact with my costumes. Plus, they are big fans of glitter. And so am I. SO AM I.
This collection, which consists one gorgeous eyeshadow palette and 6 beautiful lipsticks, is limited edition. That means, you better run to your local Sephora, Ulta or online retailer to snag one because the last time I checked at my local Sephora, there were zero of these babies in stock. And it’s easy to see why. The packaging is perfection, with some of my favorite Alice quotes. For an outsider and “weirdo” like myself, I always related with the story’s take on the perception of “being strange.”
I love that the palette is arranged in such a way that each character has their own color scheme. You can either work within a certain character, or jump all around the palette to create your own bold look inspired by the film. For a limited edition palette based on such a trippy book/film, I appreciate that Urban Decay made it really wearable. It includes both very bright, attention getting shades, while also including some neutrals that can be worn every day. Check out how I put together two very different looks on my YouTube channel!
Each lipstick retails for $18, and I’ve swatched them both on my lips and on my arm for you all to get a really good idea of what they look like (check out my live swatches on my YouTube channel). I did not use lip liners with any of these (because I do most of my blog work while Luna is sleeping, so I have to be quick – #momlife), but I highly recommend doing so. I usually am not the biggest fan of lip liners (I’m lazy), but these lip colors are so bold that they could leave a mess. Phyrra gives some great lip liner suggestions in her post for shades that match perfectly with each one.
Time; there is no other description for this shade other than “bad ass.” It’s a metallic gun metal. It takes a few applications and it’s still not very opaque, but I feel like if you fill in your lips with some liner, it may do the trick. I posted some pretty fun shots of me rocking this shade on my Instagram. It is SO fun.
Iracebeth; this is the winner of the bunch in my eyes. It is so beautifully pigmented and punchy. You all know I love my reds, and this just may become my new go-to for the summer.
Alice; a soft gold nude. This one is barely detectable on my skin tone, but I still think it would be nice to wear to the office or for everyday simple looks.
Mad Hatter; this is such a fun purple! It also takes a few applications, but translates so beautifully. I can definitely see myself wearing this all the time during the summer months.
Mirana; had this one not been so patchy, it would have been stunning! It’s a dark plum shade that fits in with the 90’s grunge trend, but I’m thinking it may work better with the Urban Decay lip primer. Maybe all of these would! I may have to snag one of them and give it a whirl.

Those lipsticks all look so great in the tube, I just wish the pigmentation was more even. I know they’re meant to be sort of sheer, but to me that just doesn’t do the colours justice, which is why they’re a pass for me.

Ahhh! I’m so jealous! I own the Naked 3 palette and the Naked Basics palette. I love them both so much. Also, they last forever!
