It can feel like you never have any time to yourself when you work full time. Working is hard, and when you finish, your energy levels might be low, and you might just want to relax. As tempting as this, it isn’t great for health to allow for conveniences. Conveniences such as takeaway foods and fizzy drinks are unhealthy.
Yet no one can blame you for this since time is the only thing you cannot get back. But even the best lifestyle has time for squeezing things in. You can exercise in the office, liquidize healthy food and consult your doctor over the internet. With a bit of practice and patience, you can manage your health and time accordingly.
Web Doctor Services
There are many advantages to the internet these days, and you can find pretty much anything. One of the most incredible things is that the internet is pretty much a 24/7 place. This means that even the busiest of us can find what we need out of hours. For example, you can order food, arrange transportation and even get medical advice at any time of the day.
Advancements in technology such as video calling apps and Live Chat features allow you to arrange and perform online doctor assessments at any time from anywhere. So if you are stuck in the office, you can find a private room and discuss your issues with a trained professional. Your own GP may also offer this service, though it’s likely they won’t be available out of office hours.
Squeezing in Some Exercise
Given that you work so hard, it’s unlikely you have time for visiting the gym. And even if you do have some spare time, it could be better spent seeing your children or doing something fun. Especially the weekends. Fortunately, you can squeeze in some exercise while at work. One of the easiest things to do is lift things, and there are even exercises you can do while sitting at your desk.
When it comes to lifting, you can get in some curls by lifting your coffee jar or a similar object while at the drinks area. Alternatively, you can do some butt crunches while sitting at your desk or try some resistance band training whenever your hands are free. But the best way to exercise is to take some time to walk, run or even get in some yoga during your lunch break. It isn’t uncommon for modern offices to have dedicated fitness areas, and if not, you could bring up the subject.
Liquid Lunch
A varied and balanced diet is a great way to stay healthy and fit. When you cook your own food, you know exactly what is in it and that it isn’t processed in any way. But cooking can take time. Time you may not have. But there is one thing you can do that takes a fraction of the time and provides all the nutrients and wholesome vitamins you need – juicing.
Juicing is an extremely healthy way to get your daily intake of ABCs and minerals. Blenders used to be the best way of doing this. But a lot of the goodness was lost with a blender as they usually left residue and bits. These were sieved out as they were unpleasant. New machines like the NutriBullet reduce all fruits and vegetables down to a liquid. Even pips and seeds.
Ditch the Fizz
Staying hydrated is essential for health. It is recommended that you drink at least 6 glasses per day, preferably 8. However, most people don’t drink enough. Data from various studies suggest that only around 20% of adults drink the received amount of water. This is shockingly low. The reasons vary, but the most common is that they would instead consume fizzy drinks or juices.
Drinks such as Coca-Cola are incredibly harmful when consumed in excess, especially in place of water. The sugar content alone is shocking. Yet even low calorie, no sugar, or diet versions of drinks contain synthetic sweeteners like aspartame and stevia, which cause other issues. Basically, all you need is water for a healthy cell, system, organ function, and concentration.
Don’t be Tempted
Of course, you eventually have time off in your free hours or on the weekend. These are the times when you might be tempted to reach for convenience foods and settle on the couch to watch the latest binge-watching phenomenon. You must resist. Just because it’s the weekend doesn’t mean you should become lazy about your health. Instead of watching 6 episodes straight, why not go for a walk after each one?
It is also helpful to keep your health work habits going when at home. While any food you want is available just by picking up your phone, you could make something delicious and healthy in the amount of time it takes for it to arrive. You will also save a lot of money by preparing your own meals. The weekend is your big test. And if you can get into the routine of staying healthy when you are off, you will have no problem doing it at work.
