I started watching SyFy’s Being Human when it first premiered with pretty high hopes since I had heard the British version was amazing. Unfortunately, it didn’t really work for me and I often found myself bored or disinterested in the storyline as well as with the characters. After a few episodes, I quit and no longer watched. It wasn’t until recently that I decided to give the Brit version a go and oh my, am I ever glad I did. The hubs and I are now certifiably hooked with all 3 past seasons on Netflix instant. One particular draw (aside from a much more believable cast and script) is the Irish hottie mchottiepants, Aidan Turner, who plays the UK’s irresistible vampire, Mitchell. And even better? I just discovered he will be playing the young dwarf, Kili, in The Hobbit films. Score.
Happy Hump Day: David Gandy
I love featuring male models on hump day because I get to sift through an excessive amount of photos, unlike regular actors. I have to thank my lovely friend, Rosa, from Accidental Sexiness for this recommendation. David Gandy is a BRITISH model (I love when amazingly beautiful men come with an equally beautiful accent) that is best known for his work with Dolce & Gabbana. He is also ranked as the 3rd most successful male model according to Forbes magazine. Not too shabby, Gandy…
Oh. And he’s pretty much the perfect male specimen.
Carry on.
Happy Hump Day: Scott Speedman
Everyone got to know Scott Speedman on a little show called Felicity back in the late 90’s, but I was never one of them. I guess I was just too cool for J.J. Abrams back then (blasphemer). The first time I laid eyes on Mr. Speedman was in the Underworld films, where he plays Michael Corvin, one hot piece of werewolf. So beyond gorgeous photos like the ones I feature below came as no surprise to me – apparently those Felicity fans don’t remember him being quite so hunky. Just proves my theory that men only get better with age (too bad the same cannot be said of us – sigh).
Happy Hump Day: Tom Hardy
I don’t believe that females are the only ones that develop “girl crushes” – I’m pretty sure guys suffer from their own manly lovefests as well. Case in point? My husband has a man crush on Tom Hardy, whom I affectionately refer to as his boyfriend. In fact, he smiles like a little school girl whenever the commercial airs for his new film, This Means War (he will also play Bane in the newest installment of Batman – no big). I’m pretty sure if we didn’t have so many other activities buzzing around us lately, he would have made it the focus of a date night. He also made me watch Bronson (an interesting experience to say the least) and basically memorized his workout routines via youtube videos to illustrate to our former personal trainer (which caused them to be incorporated into our own – greeaaaat). It’s all kinda cute. Just sayin’.
Happy Hump Day: James Dean
It was time to whip out another vintage hottie for all of you out there, and I figured I’d go with a classic: James Dean. But before I begin, I have a confession to make. I’ve only seen one old film, and that’s only because my hubby basically shoved it down my throat (another confession? I didn’t like the one he made me watch. It was Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Go at it. Lynch me.), so I’ve never actually seen Jimmy Dean in action. I’m serious. But he just sprang out to me in all the photos I saw – he was so beautiful and mysterious. Those bad boys…they always find a special place in my heart.
