What I Wore: Social Saturday

For being someone that adores color and brights, I have been deathly afraid to give color blocking a whirl. Maybe I fear that I will just take the idea and run with it. After all, once you give me access to color, I tend to turn into a crazy 6-year-old child. But, I had a lot of fun putting this one together. So much fun, in fact, that I may just try it again. 😉

I am in love with this airy blouse from Conversation Pieces. It is the perfect spring item to pair with a great pair of colored skinnies, which I did for a very busy Saturday with friends. I had to work in the morning, quickly followed by a girls lunch at Scotty’s Landing and then an amazing Panther game with more friends. I had to make sure I looked comfortable and cute, and this definitely fit the bill.

I added this fun nautical jacket for the hockey game, and I am so glad I did! It was absolutely freezing for this Miami girl, but the team’s amazing shots and nerve-wracking moments proved to provide a little warmth here and there.

The Hunger Games Mall Event – Miami/Ft. Lauderdale

Let me begin. I’m a huge Hunger Games fan. I am so in love with this fandom and their passion. I was planning on attending the Hunger Games mall event yesterday in Westfield Broward as just that…a fan. I did not expect to be picking up a press badge, but it was a pleasant surprise. I loved being able to watch the fans in action from our riser. It was honestly my favorite part. So many 3-fingered salutes, smiles and squeals. It was infectious.

After visiting The Limited last week, I was impressed with the versatility of their collections. Some of my favorites were, of course, their beautiful pop pieces (like the skirt I featured earlier this week), as well as their travel suits that can be thrown into the washer and dryer (heaven sent). Finally, I really adored their reboot of the Outback Red collection (last available in the 80’s), which focuses on those of us bitten by the wanderlust bug. It recently features trends inspired by travel to Havana, Cuba, which I love!

In other words, I don’t think any of you will have a very difficult time spending this great gift card. 😉

The Limited Store Launch

Attention local fashionistas! The Limited in Dadeland Mall has a new home (now between Macy’s and JCPenny’s) and they want to celebrate with you this Friday, February 24th, at noon! Come join in the ribbon cutting, raffle, store tours and free swag with all purchases. I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a great lunch break! Plus, I’ll be there! 😉

Curious about what has changed? A lot! But some of my favorite added features are buttons in the dressing room for more efficient service if, let’s say, you need another size or color, a sitting area and “Ebar” by the dressing room area for your friends and/or significant others to make their wait time a little more bearable (my hubs will definitely appreciate this one), and jewelry stands outside the rooms to make styling your outfit even easier! Plus, the store got a facelift – doesn’t it look gorgeous?
