Lin & Jirsa

Everyone knows I’m an avid Twitter user. I am its biggest fan, but I can also get pretty annoyed with the seemingly odd strangers that decide to follow me (sexbots excluded). This past week, the opposite happened. Instead of some weirdo, an amazingly talented person decided to follow me: Christopher Lin of Lin & Jirsa Photography.

frank-lloyd-wright-architectural-photography

His company was voted the best wedding photographers of 2009 by MyFOXLA Hotlist and after looking through their blog, I can understand why. I know I’ve been married for almost 2 years now, but I cannot stop myself from checking out wedding photography blogs, wedding decor inspiration and even wedding dresses from time to time. I am just a sucker for event planning. So for all of my readers that are planning their wedding, planning someone else’s wedding, an event or are just a fan of pretty pictures, take a gander at their portfolio.

My favorite recent picture of theirs has to be the one above of a wedding that took place in a home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Are you kidding me? Flipping amazing.

Thanks for the add, Christopher!

1. Pretty Sweets!
1. Pretty Sweets!

This lovable link comes straight from my husband, Augi. He frequents a Russian photo blog and thought of me when he saw this post. It’s a collection of beautifully decorated and presented sweets. Plenty of inspiration for your wedding’s candy buffet (are those still in vogue?) or next party.  Although not a big sweets fan (I favor ice cream much more), I can appreciate it’s beauty in photos and the joy it brings others. OK, so I’ve been known to stuff my face every now & then with the rest of them – I can’t lie! 😉

Project 365

project365_uploadsize

For those of you not familiar with this photo project, Project 365 challenges participants to take a photo a day for a year. I’ve tried to start this project 3 times now and have been unsuccessful. However, with the birth of this blog and the constant nagging of my friends, I have decided to pick it up for the 4th time and restrict it to only self-portraits. I really hope I am able to complete it this time around because I’ve always marveled at completed projects on Flickr. It is amazing to see a year of someone’s life illustrated in pictures.

I am currently on day 12 and although I am only armed with a small Canon point & shoot, I am doing my best and have been consistent! Hopefully this will push me to be more creative, something I’m always craving. If you want to keep up with my Project 365, you can visit my Flickr set. However, I’ll be posting mosaics of my photos monthly here on the blog. I’m hoping by doing so, it’ll help keep me motivated!

So what do all of you think? Like the idea? Have you ever attempted your own Project 365?

ps; Happy Cinco de Mayo!! Have a margarita (or two, or three) on me tonight!

Weekend Highlights

The highlight of our weekend was definitely on Saturday when we joined our good friends Camero & Tom at their place on Key Biscayne. Since it was so windy, we lounged by the pool instead of the beach with good Pandora stations, good beer and good conversations. It was great being able to catch up – Camero and I have been friends since we were 14 years old so we have quite the history together (consisting of badly put together 90’s outfits and embarrassing obsessions with rockstars).

We then gorged ourselves on Five Guys Burgers & Fries and did some bargain shopping at the shops at Midtown. Overall, it was a great day and I hope we do it more often now that beach weather is upon us! For more pictures from our day at the beach, click here.

I hope you all had a great, relaxing weekend and that your Monday is as good as a Monday can possibly be. For all those Heroes fans that read my blog, tonight marks the Season 3 Finale! I honestly cannot wait to see what they have in store for us – I’ve heard it’s going to be epic! Team Sylar! 😉

1. WorkChic Blog
1. WorkChic Blog

As a girl that struggles putting together appropriate and chic outfits for the office, I can truly appreciate the advice given on the WorkChic blog. Unlike other working girl blogs, they cover a variety of different budgets as well as different levels of formality from casual to professional and everything in between. My difficulties stem from having to put together business casual outfits while knowing that I will be working with children. Plus, I tend to gravitate more towards the “fun clothes” while shopping. Hopefully by putting WorkChic on my list of favorite blogs, I can be inspired to be one hot office fashionista 😉 [Read more…]
