All my lovin’…

Well, as promised, I am back with a recap of my amazing Valentine’s Day.

It actually all started Friday night when I returned home from a much needed Happy Hour with my bestie. As I walked in, I saw a beautiful arrangement of gerbera daisies (which are one of my favorite flowers) and a very appropriate card.

The next morning, I woke up to a bunch of hugs & kisses and an amazing breakfast in bed consisting of 2 croquetas and a heart-shaped strawberry nestled in between.

Afterwards, I handed the hubs his present: a vintage model-kit of the Starship Enterprise from the original 60’s Star Trek series. Yes, my husband is a nerd. Needless to say, he loved it and I am sure I will be subjected to many nights full of tweezers, Exacto knives & model glue.

The rest of the day was perfectly relaxed and romantic. We watched Netflix movies and the hubs grilled up some meat & sausage for lunch. Then I got ready to head out for a photoshoot in the Design District.

It was then that I was told to cover my eyes for the rest of the ride for our “secret date location.” I played my part and complied. I didn’t peek once, but my mind was racing with the possibilities as I noticed that we were headed northbound. Before I knew it, we had stopped and Augi told me to open my eyes. We were at my favorite place in the world: IKEA!

It definitely was a shocker and something I had not expected. Although quirky, it was definitely very much me. My present was a gift card to spend on whatever my little heart desired and a romantic little dinner for two in their cafe, which unfortunately we were too stuffed from grilling earlier to take advantage of. We did have some delicious ice cream cones on our way out though.

All in all, it was one of the best Valentine’s Days ever, if not the best. Although it may sound run-of-the-mill to many, it was perfectly understated: just the way I like it.

    Thanks girls!
I bought a bright red side table and some great tree-like displays. Super hard to describe, but once I find the right place for them, I’ll post pictures – promise!
