I knew Saturday was going to be all sorts of awesome, but I have to say the night surpassed all my expectations! First, I got to meet the amazingly awesome (& hawt) blogger, Rosy, from Accidental Sexiness (follow her blog if you don’t already!). We had been following each other on Twitter for a few weeks, sharing our love for Heroes, tall men & all things British. It was such a treat to finally meet her in person and get to share such an amazing experience along with her. I have to say that she is one great partner in crime!
After beginning our night the way we promised we wouldn’t (by drinking heavily), we headed to The Shore Club. The minute we walked into the hotel, we run into Mr. Greg Grunberg. I was buzzing pretty hard off my ridiculously huge drinks, but thought quick enough to mention Yowza instantly! Before I knew it, Grunny was all over my iPhone trying to change my preferences as well as trying to fix my busted Google Maps application. I don’t really think I processed who I was talking to – he was so down to earth and amazingly sweet that it was hard to imagine that this guy is a celebrity on a hit TV show. It is always such a treat to meet talented people that are still humble and truly care about their fans.
Thanks to Shelly, the band’s publicist whom Rosy & and I had kept in contact with, we scored VIP access to the show. This meant that we were given access into the band’s pre-party. I am forever thankful to Shelly because Rosy and I had the best time mingling with all the stars!
The highlight of the party was definitely meeting Adrian Pasdar (Nathan Petrelli on Heroes)! Adrian was just as sweet as Grunny, taking time to talk to us for quite awhile. We made sure to mention how much the fans enjoy his videos on the buckshotwon youtube channel and how much we appreciate all he does for charity. Rosy was lucky enough to interview him for her blog last week and he shared a lot of great info, from his taste in music to what we can expect in the next volume of Heroes. Check it out here! We also chatted it up with Grunny again about Twitter (I’m waiting for that follow!) and their appearance at Comic Con this year (it is still to be determined).
Then it was time for the show! Rosy and I scored an amazing spot right next to the stage. Before the band began playing, Grunny was presented with a key to the city for all his charitable work, which was extremely well-deserved. Shortly after, the band kicked it into high gear! I have to say that I was impressed with their performance – they covered everything from The Killers to Bon Jovi to The Charlie Daniels Band and had the crowd pumped all throughout. My only complaint was that the male vocals were way stronger than the female leads and we sorely missed Melora Hardin’s (Jan from the Office) guest appearance. Otherwise, I think the band was energetic and really proved that they could rock just as hard as any other act out there! I especially loved how Teri Hatcher jumped into the pool at the end of their set, followed by some of her band mates. You could tell that they didn’t consider this business, but fun. And that’s something I really appreciate when watching live acts.
Overall, the night was spectacular! I got to meet some of my favorite TV stars and got to watch a great concert. What else could I ask for? Well, Mr. Quinto would have been nice, but I don’t want to be greedy. 😉 After all, there’s always next time. And I definitely hope there will be a next time with these guys.
If you are on Twitter, you can follow the band here.

All is divulged on Melificent, Ms. Sexiness! 😉
Nadi – I wish I could have smuggled you in! Unfortunately Hugh Laurie wasn’t at our show. That would have made the awesome level bump off the charts 😉

Ummm, hello hotness that is Jesse Spencer.
He is so delicious. I miss House already :/
AJ says
Very cool. Thanks for the report and pictures!
Do you by any chance remember what Killers song they covered? They’re another of my favorite bands, so this is doubly exciting.
Andie says
I’m soooooo happy for you Meli!!!! YOU DID IT!!! I told you!
Oh, and should I mention I’ve seen Rosy in pictures with another band that I follow?!
Gosh, we both scored this week! TRUE THAT!!
I called them Double L VIP: Liquor and Luck! SWEET! I’ll post my story shortly, that’s if i can recall the night! xoxo!
Meli says
AJ – they covered “Somebody Told Me” 🙂 I’m so glad fans are enjoying this post!
Andie – yes, she told me that she is a big NKOTB fan and has met them a few times! We really did have a great week – I’m hoping to carry on the Double L luck tomorrow night at the Gavin Rossdale show. Now if I meet him…well, I have no idea what I’d do with myself. I suppose that is what 1/2 of the L is for 😉

I’m so glad you had an immense load of fun. I wish I had been there to see Grunny and Adrian. I hope they hit Comic Con this year. They make it fun. NBC needs to market their butts off for Heroes. One piece of advice for Adrian-shave the Pasbeard please.
Meli says
I’d love to be able to see the whole cast at Comic Con this year – it would make a great birthday present 🙂
And I couldn’t agree more, Ilaam, they really do make it that much more fun!
Elsie says
Squeeeee! Great pics! I heart Jesse from House! That is so awesome. So exciting to meet the Heroes boys! Was Grunny able to fix your GPS? Lol.
Meli says
Thanks Els! No, he wasn’t LOL. He stared at it in complete bewilderment and told me that Apple needed to give me a replacement. Nothing I didn’t already know 😉
