Happy Hump Day: Justin Timberlake

All photos found via weheartit.com

I’m giving you free reign to mock me: I used to be a really huge *Nsync fan. I’ll give you even more material: I still listen to all their albums and dance around my room while I’m getting dressed. But, a Justin Timberlake fan I was not. I found him to be so irritating and such an attention whore. He stole everyone’s solos (man, he is starting to sound like Rachel Berry) and professed to adore the color baby blue. I’m pretty sure I would have paid money to be able to slap him around for a bit, and the last thing that would have crossed my mind when I was 19 years old was that one day I would love him. Well look at that. Not only do I love him, but I adore his solo music, his acting and his hysterical sense of humor (hope you all caught him & Gaga on SNL this past weekend). Although I really do miss him on the music front (again, never thought that would come out of my mouth), he really seems to have some fun movies coming up like Friends with Benefits and Bad Teacher. Oh, and he’s got killer abs. Proof below. 😉

Romper Room

Photo via weheartit.com

While trolling the beach over the weekend, I could not help but notice that everyone was rockin’ a romper! I am a big fan of rompers, but mainly when they are on other people besides myself. I just do not think I can pull them off since I think my legs are my weakest feature, but after seeing all the fun, fabulous fashionistas strutting their stuff up and down Lincoln Road, I think I may give one a whirl. Well, maybe after I take up spinning again….

Here are some of my favorites:

Urban Outfitters

ModCloth

Pinterest

Lookbook.nu

Yumi Kim

Are you a big fan of the romper revolution?
Let me know in the comments!

Weekend Highlights: SheCon

I was really looking forward to SheCon. Since revamping the blog, I needed some pointers on how to grow my readership and possibly monetize it. So I thought this would be the perfect place to gain some knowledge and network with people in the industry. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed on many fronts.

Before I continue, I want to say that I only attended Friday from 9am until noon-ish. That is when I decided I had enough. Maybe it got better afterwards, but from friends’ accounts I don’t really think it did. With that said, I thought the event was very poorly thought out. Attendance was extremely low (I’d say there were about 60 people at the Guy Kawasaki panel), and the quality of material presented was crap. Aside from Kawasaki (who actually recommended the Bieber movie as a must watch), the speakers seemed really off target and not very knowledgeable or well-rounded. I can honestly say I learned nothing from their presentations, sadly. I don’t want to go into too much detail because I don’t want this to be a slam fest, but suffice it to say that it was a huge let down. Huge.

Thankfully I was able to make the best out of the situation and spend some quality time with friends that I don’t get to see too frequently. So it wasn’t a complete waste of a day. However, I really hope that SheCon is able to take all the feedback and improve upon it for next year because the concept was really great and had the potential to be something pretty special. Here’s hopin’.

Have a great week, everyone, and congratulations on surviving the elusive rapture! 😉

SheCon ’11

I will be attending She Con for the weekend, and I’m really excited about meeting
new people and learning new things about this business. I hope the experience can
make me grow as a blogger and help me bring you better material.

I’ll make sure to fill you all in on my experiences next week!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend.

Adorable Blog Award

I was so flattered to see that I was given my first blog award from one of my oldest “online” pals, Terri. She just started a really great fashion blog full of cute inspiration posts, daily outfit photos and snippets of her every day life. You should definitely check it out and let her know that I sent you!

The Adorable Blog Award comes with a few rules, and here they are:

* Thank the person who gave you this award, and link back to them in your post.
* Tell us 10 things about yourself.
* Nominate your bloggers.
* Contact these bloggers, and let them know they received this award.

So, again, thank you Terri. I love your posts and have cherished your friendship through the last few years. I hope one day we can meet up for some drinks and gab about cute boys, fashion & blogging.
