I wish you all a very happy new year! Hope you all had fun ringing it in last night and don’t have too hard of a time recovering today. Let’s hope for a prosperous and fantastic 2010!

Resolutions.
Those are meant to be broken. Forgotten. Tossed away.
I prefer wishes.
On the eve of 2010, I’d like to make myself a little list of things I wish to achieve next year, with happiness & health always being in the top spot:
1. Continue “working on my fitness.” Do not get lazy.
2. Own a house. Love it. Make it yours.
3. Find something that makes you happy.
4. Raise more money for Autism Speaks than in 2008.
5. Make this blog a priority. Strive to be creative, inspiring & interesting.
6. Learn more recipes.
7. Just learn more. Period.
8. Love without boundaries.
9. See Muse live.
10. Have more adventures: big or small.
11. Continue making memories worth remembering for a lifetime.
12. Visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Have fun welcoming the new year, tonight! Have a blast, drink lots of champagne, get your kisses at midnight but remember to stay safe!

District 9
I knew I was going to love this movie when I attended the panel at Comic-Con, but I don’t think I was ready for how it would affect me. This movie was mind-blowing, not only with special effects, but also with its storyline and message.
Star Trek
Although not a trekker in the least bit, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Be it due to Zachary Quinto, J.J. Abrams or Zachary Quinto, I really don’t know. All I know is that it was absolutely entertaining and I didn’t mind watching it three times in a theater.
I know a lot of people had a very rough year in 2009, but we were fortunate enough to have a really amazing year together. It almost seems like every year gets better since we moved in together and got engaged. I really believe that my husband is my good luck charm! Last year, I put together a similar year in review on my old blog, and I’ve decided to make it a tradition! So sit back and enjoy a quick rundown of the highlights of my 2009:

We rang in the new year at Marla & Andrea’s downtown loft with our closest friends, attended the art deco car show on South Beach, celebrated my co-worker’s wedding, held a season 5 premiere party for LOST at our pad, celebrated Ian’s birthday by laser tagging, had an epic girl’s night out at LIV night club and welcomed James into his new home by having a party complete with flip cup, beer pong & lots of jager.

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas holiday with your loved ones – mine was great! It was very low-key (just the way I like it) and we got to spend quality time not only with our families but also with our closest friends. I also had the majority of the week off, so it was really nice to take a break from the hectic work week to just relax and focus on the things that are really important.
It also didn’t hurt that we got some great gifts!

Gift cards to help us fix and decorate our new home!

Red Envelope’s couple genealogy tree, which will look beautiful in our new home but is going to prove to be a daunting task!

Amazing owl ring from my hubs. He got it through Lara Lewis’ gorgeous Etsy shop of vintage and estate-style jewelry.
And possibly our most amazing gift this year (besides our home of course), is from my father-in-law:

Yes, a 1970 Kharmann Ghia in tip-top shape! He fooled us at first by saying that he had bought us one that needed a lot of work, but then surprised us with this beauty! Unfortunately, she hasn’t arrived yet but her parents couldn’t be more excited!
