What I Wore: Goddess of Thunder {Fifth Sun Giveaway}

I’ve reached the point in my pregnancy where comfort is key. Although I don’t look as large and in charge as I feel – trust me, it’s hard to maneuver around these days (especially getting up from bed), so I appreciate a comfortable outfit. However, that doesn’t mean I need to compromise on style. What I’m loving lately are these great maternity leggings that were a hand-me-down from one of my good friends paired with a longer and roomier fandom tee or tank. I’m loving this floral Thor tee from Fifth Sun! It’s the perfect combination of girly and geeky that speaks to my little fangirl heart.

What I Wore: Earl Jeans Brunch

A couple of weeks ago, I got the chance to attend a blogger brunch hosted by the lovely Netty of The Fashionable ESQ. We’ve been friends since high school and although we don’t see each other all the time, we always make it a point to support each other and our endeavors, and I absolutely love that. Plus, we start exactly where we left off every time we spend time together, which is always the hallmark of a true friendship. She is working with Earl Jeans, and they were wonderful enough to send all attendees some great pieces to wear while Love is Blind provided the absolutely delicious eats and tasty cocktails (that I could not enjoy – wah).

Now entering my 7th month of pregnancy, I was thrilled that this embellished top fit, and complemented my new maternity jeans from Old Navy so well. It also felt great to rock a heel (in the form of a wedge) for the day after schlubbing it in sandals for so long. I decided to pair this look with some Doctor Who elements, which tied in perfectly with the dark blue tones. Overall, it felt nice to dress up and spend some girl time with favorites and make some new friends in the process.

What I Wore: Birds & Babies

This past weekend we were invited to one of our closest friends’ son’s 1st birthday party. It was so amazing to see how many of our friends were toting around tots! In fact, I’m pretty sure my best friend and I were the only ones without kiddos at the party (my inside baby doesn’t count just yet). We got a lot of “are you ready for all this?” comments, and naturally, we said no. Who is really? But despite probably not being ready for the madness ahead, we couldn’t be happier or more excited.

My birdie tunic top was a hit and flattered my growing bump perfectly. I was comfy enough to play around with kiddos, but chic enough to look extremely put together. Definitely look for these cuts and styles while dressing your bump. You more than likely will not go wrong and when paired with the right accessories, such as my favorite witch hat, you will always look the part of modern and hip mama.

What I Wore: RocksBoxin’

After receiving my first Rocksbox, I made some slight alterations to what I would have liked to receive: namely, more every day wear. My stylist promptly listened and my next box came with exactly that! I’m on kind of a gold kick lately (from fashion to design) so I was happy to see that all my pieces were gold and very versatile. I loved the way they paired up with this casual glam outfit that I wore to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday. Don’t forget, if you want to try out Rocksbox for free, use my code: melibellyxoxo.

The statement necklace was perfect with this tee I picked up at Forever 21, which is the *perfect* cut and style to rock with a pregnant belly. In fact, I wish they had more because I would have bought the whole lot! Plus, the Shakespeare quote is one of my favorites so it was a win/win. I actually paired this look with a pair of heels – the first time I’ve worn some in quite awhile. My feet weren’t very happy with me at the end of the day: they were all puffy and sore. Wah for pregnancy glamor!

What I Wore: Back to the Future Marathon

In a surprising moment, Miami actually hosted a pretty cool geeky event a couple of weekends ago: a Back to the Future marathon at our local art house theater, O Cinema. We naturally picked up those tickets at lightning speed (88 mph, perhaps?) and amped ourselves up by listening to The Power of Love by Huey Lewis on our way over. I know it’s cheesy, but it makes me happy to think that my little one is already experiencing some pretty neat things that her parents love from inside the womb. She showed her appreciation by wiggling around in my belly a few times throughout the movie. She also showed her displeasure by making me pass out half way through the second film and making us miss the last. Oh Luna, you still have the upper hand on me!
