What I Wore: Birds & Babies

This past weekend we were invited to one of our closest friends’ son’s 1st birthday party. It was so amazing to see how many of our friends were toting around tots! In fact, I’m pretty sure my best friend and I were the only ones without kiddos at the party (my inside baby doesn’t count just yet). We got a lot of “are you ready for all this?” comments, and naturally, we said no. Who is really? But despite probably not being ready for the madness ahead, we couldn’t be happier or more excited.

My birdie tunic top was a hit and flattered my growing bump perfectly. I was comfy enough to play around with kiddos, but chic enough to look extremely put together. Definitely look for these cuts and styles while dressing your bump. You more than likely will not go wrong and when paired with the right accessories, such as my favorite witch hat, you will always look the part of modern and hip mama.

What I Wore: RocksBoxin’

After receiving my first Rocksbox, I made some slight alterations to what I would have liked to receive: namely, more every day wear. My stylist promptly listened and my next box came with exactly that! I’m on kind of a gold kick lately (from fashion to design) so I was happy to see that all my pieces were gold and very versatile. I loved the way they paired up with this casual glam outfit that I wore to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday. Don’t forget, if you want to try out Rocksbox for free, use my code:¬†melibellyxoxo.

The statement necklace was perfect with this tee I picked up at Forever 21, which is the *perfect* cut and style to rock with a pregnant belly. In fact, I wish they had more because I would have bought the whole lot! Plus, the Shakespeare quote is one of my favorites so it was a win/win. I actually paired this look with a pair of heels – the first time I’ve worn some in quite awhile. My feet weren’t very happy with me at the end of the day: they were all puffy and sore. Wah for pregnancy glamor!

What I Wore: Back to the Future Marathon

In a surprising moment, Miami actually hosted a pretty cool geeky event a couple of weekends ago: a Back to the Future marathon at our local art house theater, O Cinema. We naturally picked up those tickets at lightning speed (88 mph, perhaps?) and amped ourselves up by listening to The Power of Love by Huey Lewis on our way over. I know it’s cheesy, but it makes me happy to think that my little one is already experiencing some pretty neat things that her parents love from inside the womb. She showed her appreciation by wiggling around in my belly a few times throughout the movie. She also showed her displeasure by making me pass out half way through the second film and making us miss the last. Oh Luna, you still have the upper hand on me!

What I Wore: Americana

Welcome June! I think it is safe to say that we are starting the Summer season. Although it’s a little harder to rock a bikini and beers on the beach can no longer describe a typical weekend, I still adore this time of year. I love shedding (even more) clothing and enjoying the balmy sun. Everything revolves around a pool or ocean, and I definitely do not complain. Plus, my birthday is right around the corner! What’s not to love?

This is a perfect example of dressing your bump without touching the maternity section. This incredible tunic is extremely long and roomy, which means that I can wear it throughout different stages of my pregnancy. Being 18 weeks in these¬†shots, I’m still able to crop it to strategically cover my bump, but still show some (appropriate) skin. Later on in my pregnancy, I’ll be able to let it loose as a true tunic and wear it with leggings. My shorts also still thankfully fit me (with a little hair tie science), so I’ve been rocking them while I still can! See? Maternity.not.needed.

What I Wore: Mischief Managed

Who doesn’t want to be a bad ass Gryffindor? I had a lot of fun styling all these outfits during our Wizarding World weekend, but this one was one of my favorites because it seemed like something an actual Hogwarts student would wear on their days off. I loved that I could adorn my military vest with various Potter-themed buttons and pins, which makes it a subtle homage paired with my mischief managed tank. Even our utilitarian annual pass holder lanyard somehow managed to work into the look. It was so fab sharing all my vacation looks with you all – I can’t wait until our next visit!
