On Friday night, we joined friends to see District-9. I had very high expectations (I think I’ve spoken about this movie a million times on the blog!), and I am so happy to say that they met and at times, exceeded them. I thought it was such a beautiful film. I’ve heard some negativity towards the film, but I think that’s due to people having a set idea of what to expect. This movie is not what you think and that’s what makes it so wonderful!
After hearing about this movie for months and attending a panel at Comic-Con, I am so excited the premiere date for District-9 is here! We have tickets to a showing tonight with a group of friends and I can’t wait! In case you are one of the 4 people that have not heard of this movie, it is set in a time where aliens have landed on Earth, but have been segregated from the general public in an area called District-9. I’ll make sure to put together a review come Monday as part of my weekend highlights for all of you!
Elijah Wood has been a fan of lomography for some time now, but he just decided to join the site as their newest amigo! A gallery of over 80 intimate photos has been uploaded to the site taken by Elijah and his trusty LC-A+ depicting travels, friends and general good times. Also surprised to see that Elijah is such a great photographer and does such a great job capturing moments – makes me love him even more! My favorite shot? The series of Radio Flyers – I know it has to be an homage to the ’92 flick he starred in, which happens to be one of my favorite childhood movies.

I can’t tell you how many of my lovely ladies out there voted to have Mr. Skarsgard as this week’s hump day hottie! Alexander Skarsgard plays vampire sheriff, Eric Northman, on HBO’s True Blood. Although Bill Compton is technically the vampire all us girls should be swooning over (perfect gentleman, protector, hopeless romantic, etc.), it’s the bad boy that has seemed to charm the masses. And it looks like he’s not only charming his female audience, but also his cast members! Deborah Ann Woll, who plays the bratty teenage vampire, Jessica, was practically swooning all over Alexander during the True Blood panel and a sneak peek trailer shown during Comic-Con teased us all by showing a blonde in bed with Sookie! Seems like Alexander definitely has a way with the ladies – enjoy!
I would have never thought that I would like white flooring. It gets dirty so easily, it’s boring and…well…it’s white! There’s nothing I love more than a warm wood floor, but now I’m definitely rethinking my design aesthetic. I mean, check out these beautiful floors!
The stunning white floors definitely give an open and brightly lit space that extra kick and have the ability to either pump up the modern factor or play into shabby chic decor. I just may need some of these in our new house (more on that later)!
