Summer Desires

Wanted items this summer

Wanted items this summer by Melificent featuring a fedora hat

Mini shorts, $56
Zara long skirt, $60
Jumpsuits and romper, $70
Zara striped skirt, $40
Victoria s Secret beach bikini
FOSSIL cross body bag, $81
Fedora hat, $18

This is my first Polyvore set, and I have to say, I’m digging how easy it is to put one of these together! We may have a successful relationship together in the future. But, I digress. I put together this fun little compilation to share some of the essential pieces I would like to add to my summer wardrobe while doing some quick shopping in Chicago next week. I’ll be hopping on board my hubby’s business trip, and hopefully making the most out of my time in The Windy City by playing (not-your-average) tourist & visiting with some of my friends. And, of course, hitting the nearest H&M! I am in search of a brightly colored maxi skirt, a bold-colored striped skirt, a fun beach hat, a versatile crossbody bag, a pair of hotly hued (but age appropriate) shorts, a flirty bikini & finally, a cropped jumpsuit. Here’s hoping the shopping gods are with me!

Whatever I do find, I’ll make sure to share with all of you upon my return to the blogosphere!

What are some items you think are summer essentials?

Happy Hump Day: Roberto Luongo

Back in my teens, I’m pretty sure I was the only chick in Miami completely and totally obsessed with hockey. Our team, the Florida Panthers, really stink, I’m not one to delude myself. But back in the day, we drafted a new goalie, and his name was Roberto Luongo. It didn’t take much time for me to have a full-blown crush on the guy – and I had reason. Number one, he meets all requirements to be “my type,” and he’s also one talented mofo. He’s now on the Vancouver Canucks and is rocking it in the Stanley Cup Finals (well, not during Game 6), and I don’t think I have to let you guys know who I am rooting for. Go Lu! Bring your A-game to Game 7! 😉

What I Wore: Summer lovin’

The hubs and I had a pretty chill Sunday (I love those). We had to run some errands and were hoping to stop by and eat lunch at the new Sonic Beach in Homestead, but we quickly found out it wasn’t open yet (but it is now). We settled for a quick bite at Chili’s and had some fun later that night with a photoshoot starring both myself and fashion blogger, The Fashionable ESQ! I’ve been anti-jeans lately, and that day was no different. Although it’s absolutely miserable weather-wise most of the time, I really love summer time in Miami. Everyone just feels so much more relaxed, and weekends are all about fun in the sun. It also brings out the maxi dresses, shorts and sandals. Can you say hello comfort?

*special appearance by my favorite girl, Anne Bowman, my ’06 Mustang GT!

Tank; Forever 21
Shorts; I.N.C.
Sandals; Gap
Heart shades; JCPenny
Skeleton key; Etsy
Various cuffs/bracelets; gifted (yes, all of them!)

Such a goofball.

Birthday love is in order

This weekend we hosted a pool party for my beautiful mother-in-law’s birthday. We slapped the photo booth back in action, and ordered some absolutely delicious Cuban food. What I loved the most was spending some relaxed family time in our house. It made me really excited to host some more family events once the holidays roll around later this year.

My big boy, Brad-Pitt, also celebrated a birthday this past weekend. He has given us 6 years of nothing but happiness and love. He really is the best dog anyone could ask for, and I feel so lucky to have him in my life. Mommy loves you, monster!

I hope you all have a great week!

Woopsie

I can’t believe I forgot to type up a Lovable Friday post this week!
That makes 2 weeks where I haven’t shared some of my most favorite things, and I’m so terribly sorry!

::bad, bad blogger::

I promise I’ll bring my A game next week, but for now, here is something I have re-discovered and fallen in love with all over again this week: Radiohead’s Fake Plastic Trees. It’s just one of those classics that just never gets old, and makes my heart sad and happy at the same time. I love that music can still do that to me, and I hope it always does.
