Today’s hump day was a request from my dear friend, Eli, but I have to say that I was definitely 100% in agreement. I actually first heard about Game of Thrones (the book series) at last year’s Comic Con when I incidentally started chatting up the owner of TheOneRing.net (yes, I’m that kind of dork) and he filled me in on the epic stories. I actually wrote the books’ information down in my iPhone and I will never forget him telling me that when I read them, I would want to thank him profusely. And although I barely have time to read anymore (but so desperately wish I did) and am only 1/4 of the way through the first book, I have to say that he was right. It’s a fabulous story, and one of the only ones that managed to be translated accurately into an equally kick ass TV series (I’m such a sucker for a good fantasy). I am totally and completely hooked. But I digress….how adorable is newcomer, Kit Harington, that plays the absolutely lovable bastard, Jon Snow? I find myself pretty mesmerized by his lips every time he is on screen. Aren’t they just perfect? I know quite a few girls that wouldn’t mind keeping you warm at the wall, Mr. Snow. 😉
Squeeworthy: Disney Pop! Vinyl Figures
I definitely had a physical reaction when I saw these adorable figures. Disney definitely knew that it had to capitalize on the hip vinyl toy craze, and such was born the Disney Pop! vinyl figure collection. Sure, they have Vinylmation, but there is just something much more special about this series. Or maybe it’s because I’m bitter that I always got the same damn Vinylmation figures with every blind box I purchased. Or maybe these Pop! figures are just too darn cute for their own good. Either way, I am now lusting over certain characters, Maleficent obviously being my number one, closely followed by Stitch. And if you find that you can’t choose just one (or 5), you can purchase the bundle for a whopping $150.
Which one is your favorite?
Wouldn’t it be lovely to have one (or some) of these for a giveaway?
I guess a girl can dream…
Memorial Day Photobooth Highlights

I kind of pride myself on planning some pretty fun parties. Although that means I feel some serious pressure during the planning phase, there really is nothing like the high of throwing a successful fiesta. And our Memorial Day pool party was nothing short of amazing, partly due to the fun photo booth we put together in our entry way. It was a super simple project: 2 yards of IKEA fabric, duct tape and lots of handmade props combined with dollar bin finds. Without further ado, here are some of my favorite shots.
Melificent Mentions
So I know I said I would be taking a week-long hiatus, but I couldn’t help but share some of these amazing nods to both myself and the blog. It’s been pretty exciting to see this blog take shape over the past couple of years, and I love having it as my unofficial 2nd job. I’m even more proud of the opportunities that seem to be sprouting all over lately. I can only cross my fingers and hope this string of amazing continues.

Both myself and my girlie outfit for SheCon were featured on Tyra Banks’ beauty and fashion website, Type F. Check out the rest of the slideshow to see other Miami ladies strutting their fashion sense both at the convention and on the streets of Lincoln Road.
I was also published on my first blog outside of Melificent for Ultimate Coupons. I wrote up a post about shopping gluten-free on a budget, which is a topic I am constantly grappling with myself. If you are also anti-wheat, make sure to check it out. Who knows? You may get some pointers! Also, the site has some fabulous ways to cut back on spending without losing style, comfort and fun so make sure to browse around a bit.
Little break

Busy busy little bee this week, so I’ll be away from the blog.
I hope you all had a great long weekend – I sure did!
Our pool party was a success, and I will have a lot of fun photo booth pictures to share with you when I return.
Nothing but love, sunshine & rainbows!
