Nerdy Must Haves

1. X Files Pin; In a world that is being overrun by enamel pins, it’s nice to see that fandoms are still being represented in popular trends. One of my favorite pin makers, Sweet & Lovely, kills it with this monochrome X-Files one. I personally love that you can put this on your lapel, denim jacket or as flair to your favorite bag, and it is appropriate for so many occasions. Hell, put it on your dress at the next wedding you attend – you simply can’t go wrong with a little paranormal love.

2. Harry Potter Kids Dress; In my constant hunt for all things baby geek, I noticed that one of my favorites, Linda of 1138 Clothing, now offers a Harry Potter-inspired toddler dress! This is also made in big girl sizes, so this means that we can potentially have a little “Mommy and Me” action in the future. The design is so absolutely adorable, complete with a peter pan collar (I’m such a sucker for those), oversized glasses logo and a flared house skirt. You may see me wearing one of these very, very soon. ;)

3. Bookish Dress; Can you tell I’ve been on a girly kick lately? I am absolutely loving this sweet little dress from Jesiiii. She usually is a purveyor of the most kitschy and cute designs (sometimes on wood block, sometimes on pins), but she just released this number for preorder. At $60, it’s not a bad deal for such a unique and custom piece. If Belle is your inner Disney princess, you gotta snag this bookish dress!

4. Covergirl Katy Kat Matte Lipsticks; I found out about Katy Perry’s latest collaboration with Covergirl through YouTube. I saw Tasha Leelyn swatching the entire line, and now I’m super intrigued! Although I haven’t tried any of them out, I decided to add them to this list because they looked so good while swatched. I like that they have some bold colors, which is not the norm for drugstore makeup, and they are a demi-matte, which shouldn’t dry out your lips too bad. The packaging is also so killer – I love the big bold typography on white. As I’m writing this post, I’m already thinking about picking up a few at my Target run later. If I do, I’ll make sure to swatch them for you guys!

A Very Potter Mother’s Day with TeeFury & JordanDene {COUPON CODE INCLUDED}

Last year was my first Mother’s Day as a mommy, even though little Luna was still in my belly. It was the day we revealed the gender to my close family and I remember it being such a special day. This year, I actually have a little one to hold and love and call my own. What a difference a year makes! I’ve learned so much since then, about so many things – one of which is leggings are a mom’s best friend.

I love these TeeFury leggings because they leave me feeling comfy and geek chic. Although the Potter emoji’s are my favorites, they have a whole lot to choose from so check them out! Not one to leave my little munchkin out of the geek fashion game, Luna is rocking her best Jordan Dene. If you want the perfect comfy geek wear for your little fangirls or boys, definitely look into her Younglings collection!

Nerdy Must Haves

1. Geeky Travel Posters; I am a big fan of fandom travel posters as art, and those found through TeacupPiranha’s Etsy shop are some of the best I’ve seen. She has a variety of different worlds you can display, such as Star Wars, Star Trek and Disney landscapes, but this one for Game of Thrones’ The Wall is especially beautiful. You can get them in a variety of sizes and they are so affordable! I think they would be great to have framed around your snack table at your Game of Thrones viewing party!

2. BB-8 Patch; In case you have been living under a fashion rock, the new way to up your accessory game is by adding pins and patches to everything you possibly own. I’ve totally fallen for this trend and think a patched up denim vest/jacket is by far the coolest clothing item ever (look out for some posts about my own creations soon). If you are putting together a Star Wars themed jacket (because, lets be real, who ISN’T), this awesome wilderness/scout-inspired BB-8 patch is the perfect addition!

3. Custom My Little Pony Figures; If you were a child of the 80’s, like I was, you were probably a My Little Pony fanatic. My mom used to record the vintage cartoon on VHS for me so that I would have a new episode to watch every day after school and my late grandfather would buy me a new Pony figure every week. Roogna takes those vintage figures and customizes them to recreate pony-versions of pop culture icons, such as this bad ass Bowie Pony. I don’t know about you, but I think Friendship is Magic should take note and add him as a new character!

4. Harry Potter Baby Romper; Willow & Wither is one of my favorite spots on the Internet to find geeky baby clothes. Their quality is on point, the price isn’t outrageous and their patterns are just to die for. I had been drooling over the PeeWee Playhouse dress until I set my little eyes on this beyond perfect Potter Trio romper. I mean. I can’t even. There are literally no words (only slight squeaky sounds) that could express my pure joy and emotion over this article of clothing. I feel like Luna is going to transition out of her current size pretty soon, so I’m shutting my wallet for now, but you better believe this sucker will be mine hers soon.

Buzz Bag Review

There’s a new fandom subscription “box” in the ‘hood, and I had a great time reviewing it this week! Buzz Bags were created by Melissa Jenkins and her goal was to provide geeky ladies with quality fandom-inspired accessories. The bags have a different theme every month and run between $15-20. You can check out past bags and future bags here!

I got a chance to receive March’s Random Fandom bag, and it was chock full of goodies! First thing I noticed was just how many accessories you receive! There was so much crammed into such a little bag! I was shocked.

Nerdy Must Haves

Bowie Potter tee; I will always remember dancing feverishly in my 20’s to Bowie at our favorite rock club. All hair swishing, hip swaying, drink spilling…it represents my carefree youth. I will always remember first reading Potter after fervently saying I never would. The relationships formed with these fictitious characters in a magical world also represent and parallel my own “coming of age.” Both these things together? All the feels! This tee must be mine. SIRIUSLY.

Edit; this post was written before the passing of David Bowie. My heart breaks.

Blogger tee; I’m identifying myself more and more as a blogger. Of course, I still say I’m a behavior analyst when asked what I do, but I am now starting to add, “…and blogger” to the end of that sentence. And it feels good, even if people scoff or laugh when I say what my blog is about. I’m doing exactly what I want to be doing with my life – how many people can say the same? That’s why I’m gunning for this blogger tee to further say it loud and proud – plus, it’s adorable, no??

Jordan sweater; the amount of strange noises that emanated from my being when I saw the beautiful Keiko Lynn post this to her Instagram was intense. In middle school, I was beyond obsessed with My So-Called Life (& I still am). I even wrote a letter to ABC about how they shouldn’t cancel it – obviously it wasn’t very effective. But I digress. Jordan Catalano was every tween’s unicorn, and who doesn’t remember that amazing episode that opens with Angela dancing in her bedroom to “Blister in the Sun” on the morning she realizes she is totally over Jordan Catalano. Basically, NEED THIS NOW.

Luna Lovegood skirt; although my little Luna is not specifically named after Lovegood, she is my favorite character in the series (aside from hot, dragon-taming Bill Weasley). I’d love for my Luna to possess a lot of Lovegood’s qualities, but until she’s old enough to start developing them, I can wear all the things that make her great with this perfect skirt.

In summary, give me all the things.
Please + thank you.
